Don't buy this rack,
This review is from: Racor Pro SR-4R Four Pair Ski and Pole Rack (Tools & Home Improvement)
I had to take this down because it is worthless for downhill skis. I mean, if I have to buy stainless, strip-resistant screws, why pay $49? If I have to use a bungee cord to hold the skis in, why buy this rack? If I have to mount extra wood padding below the drill holes, and it still tilts downhard, why use this? As another reviewer has mentioned, this rack doesn't work for newer raised plates on downhill skis below the toe piece.
I do have this rack for *cross-country* skis at our mountain cabin, and it works fine, but for downhill it does not work, and I would not recommend buying it. For downhill I would recommend a tip rack and that's what I eventually installed. Unfortunately I had already hammer-drilled and installed a lag bolt in our concrete garage wall to anchor the 2x4 for the Racor rack.

Does the job, but could be sturdier,
This review is from: Racor Pro SR-4R Four Pair Ski and Pole Rack (Tools & Home Improvement)
I installed this in my garage and it does the basic job of getting the skis and poles organized,so it is a product that I would recommend. However, I think it could use some improvement so that it could be a 4- or 5-star product. Specifically:
The skis want to slide out of the rack so I have to use a bungee cord to keep them from sliding out. It looks like the rack was designed before the advent of today's binding technologies with the toe piece that is raised so high off the surface of the ski, so there isn't enough contact/friction to keep the skis retained. Minor complaint is that the bolts provided with the rack have heads that are made of relatively soft material and strip easily. I had to use a hack saw to cut one, re-position the rack and then use my own bolts to hold the rack in place.

Works for some skis and poles,

I have not installed these yet, but have checked them out with several different types of skis and poles. Contrary to the description, the rack does not fit all ski types. It appears to work fine for
- downhill skis - downhill poles - touring X-C skis with 75 mm bindings It does not appear to work well for - X-C touring or track skis with NNN bindings - skate skis - skis with Voile telemark release bindings - X-C touring poles - X-C track/skating poles
