5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Nintendo Game Ever Made!!
I love this game. It is very addicting and exciting. I could play for hours and hours. This is definitely one of nintendo's best games. If you love classic car racing games, this one is for you. It is simple but fun.

2.0 out of 5 stars This game is so cheesy!
You play as a sportscar on your way in eight races against cars that all look the same. The play control is really bad as you can only go forward, nor can you even turn around, just move left and right. This was the first racing game for Nintendo, so what do you expect? There is still big challenge as you cross checkpoints to get more time, which makes the game so...

5.0 out of 5 stars Rad, indeed, March 2, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

Ever wanted to see a new take on a game like Pole Position? Rad Racer hit that mark. Okay, so there's nothing TOO new to the Pole Position formula, but Rad Racer is just as fun nonetheless.

It kinda has the same basic gameplay as Namco's arcade racer, but that's not really a complaint, since the gameplay is already very good.

You can speed up by holding Up. However, that can cause a problem when it comes to turning, so you might want to pull the brakes when a turn comes.

The music is well-composed, and the graphics are great for its time.

What really makes this game stand out, however, is it's 3D feature. If you press Select, the game switches to classic red-and-blue 3D! Just get those 3D glasses and enjoy the game. Granted, it's dated, but back then, it was huge.

Overall, it's a really good take on Pole Position, and it's well worth your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want this game severely!, August 5, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Rad Racer (Video Game)
I borrowed this game from a babysitter 2 years back. Sadly, I had to return it since they love their NES as much as I do (well, I don't think anyone could quite love it as much as me!) Some time later, I was looking into some used classics. I wanted to build my SNES and Game Gear collection and go cheap so I didn't fuss over my NES too much. I never got around to this addictive racing classic.
The graphics are kindda like a late Atari 2600 game but that dosen't stop me or other classic lovers. You can drive insanely fast, dodge obstacles and choose your car! Don't make the same mistake as mine; buy it now instead of having to wait for your next order (or visit to your classic-loving friend's house!)

There is still big challenge as you cross checkpoints to get more time, which makes the game so challenging, because there is so little time and the races are so tediously long. Another big thrill about the game was it is the first and only game that features 3D! The game came with 3D glasses and a 3D mode. Even though it never looked at all 3D, which is why this never caught on and no more 3D games were made.
