I have this cable in both 7 cm and 22 cm sizes and use them for my iPod touch. If you only need a short length (to connect to laptop, for example), it's more convenient to use this than the longer Apple cable -- I only use the longer one when connecting to a wall adapter. These short cables also are great for travel, fit easily in a small pouch with other small accessories. The cable diameter and connector ends are also very close in size and look to the Apple cable -- that is, slim, not bulky. My actual lengths are a little different than what [...] cites: measured as the the length available after being plugged in (that is, length of the white part excluding the metal plugs), my "7 cm" one is 6.7 cm (2 5/8"), while my "22 cm" one is 20.3 cm (8").

I both 2 of these to use for iPhones and an external battery pack. The first one came apart after one use trying to pull it out of the iPhone side. The 2nd one did the same about 3 weeks later. I should have listened to the reviews, but for the price I wanted to try it out anyway. Big fail though.

Bought two of these - one for me and one for my son. Both broke the first time we tried to disconnect then from our iPhones. The multi-pin connector separated from the cable. Junk!

I bought 3 of these. The short length was attractive and worked well ... while they lasted. Two of the three have come apart at the iPod end ... the cable pulled out of the housing ... and would not work again. In one case, I was just trying to unplug the iPod and the cable separated. In the other, a moderate strain caused the failure. They're a great idea but a waste of money.

I use this cable in my Hyundai Sonata and for that it's almost perfect. Two inches longer would have been perfect. I thought the quality was a little weak, first time I tried to take the cable out of the Nano, the cable came apart. Pushed it back together and it still works so now I just leave it attached to the nano and use this cable to hook up to the computer.

I purchased this cable despite some of the bad reviews, I'm now wondering if those who are unhappy got a defective product? I've had mine in my car for just over 4 weeks now, not a single problem. Works like it should and seems just as durable as the Apple product. I should add that I disconnect/reconnect the Nano from the car often since I use valet parking quite frequently, no problems so far. I'd recommend this product if you're looking for a short cable.

The title says it all. I bought this to work with a small battery pack. It broke after one week of moderate use. It didn't visibly break. It just stopped working. Get a stock Apple cord. Those things are indestructible.

This didn't last long at all. After maybe 10 uses, the dock connector completely fell apart. Also, this product only works for charging and syncing. It DOES NOT work for USB audio (like for a car stereo, which is why I bought it). So not a very useful product, and quickly fell apart.

Exactly what you'd expect. Sync and charge without all the extra cord. Great for people who are interesting in conserving room in a bag or laptop case. No more tangles. Also works great with a USB battery source. I have a gen3 Touch and I get no error screen or anything. Works just like an apple product.
