5.0 out of 5 stars The Granny Peeler You Always Wanted, November 18, 2008
I started buying Rada cutlery at one of the big Home & Garden Shows because I was tired of cheap knives and of peelers that just didn't work. This knife is simply the best for the price - you don't need to spend a fortune on the German brands - this U.S. made knife is every bit as good at a fraction of the price. It is fantastic for doing apples and other fruits.

The knife stays extremely sharp - I've nicked myself a number of times when I got too close to what I was cutting. You can keep the blade super sharp by using the Rada sharpner, so there's no need to replace this knife ever.

The only drawback, if you are into appearances, is that the handle will discolor if it is not dried after washing or if you allow it to sit in water. Also, these knives should not be put in the dishwasher if you care about appearance - the handle will get darkened and somewhat pitted.

5.0 out of 5 stars A choice little morsel..., October 30, 2010

...of a knife! Love it! It never makes it to the knife block or drawer because I use it so often. I just rinse, dry, and return it to the counter next to my Rada Tomato Knife. Perfect for peeling and quartering onions, and trimming and cutting veggies for the food processor. I have 4 other (sharp) paring knives with straight blades I rarely use anymore. They just feel awkward now. The curved blade takes this little gem over the top. Highly recommend!

I actually had bought this very same knife 3 years ago at an Amish shop. Somehow it vanished after a family function with lots of helpers in the kitchen. (It probably went out with the potato peelings!) I had tried several other paring knives and was not satisfied. When I noticed "my" knife on Amazon, I ordered it right away! It is nicely balanced and very sharp. I can get a lot done in little time. It is best to hand wash and dry it to keep the handle looking nice. Highly recommend this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for everything from skinning deer to slicing strawberries!!, November 6, 2010
This is THE MOST versatile knife one can have.

It really is the only knife you will need for just about anything!

I have skinned out about 2 dozen deer in the cold outside North Dakota winters, its curve allows you to slice up the belly and not poke the guts. It is also great for skinning out coyotes, fox and rabbits.

I have used it when we butchered chickens as well, and in the kitchen? Well, there is no need for any other knife then a large knife for cutting up big roasts into slices and a bread knife,(which you can also get from Rada)

I use it for paring vegetables, slicing, dicing, cleaning beans, cutting up vegetables, meats, fish basically everything in the kitchen u need to use a knife on this will work.

I even have one that I keep in the sewing room for stitch removal and those times when one needs to trim a seam, they hold an edge very well to cut material.

If you only buy one knife. buy this granny style!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Paring Knife, September 28, 2011

I love my Rada Cutlery Granny Parking knife. My hands are fairly small and it is hard for me to grasp a large handle knife and be able to work with it. The knife is nice and sharp. Very easy to use. I have been using Rada knives for about 4 years now. I order extras and give them to family.

I absolutely love Rada knives-not expensive but at the same time the quality is comparable to $100 Japanese knives. I have much more expensive Japanese knives but find myself using Rada knives much more often! Can't recommend them enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars sharp, great feel and cheap!, April 28, 2011

My favorite knife ever is in my mom's house. It has a wooden handle and feels wonderful in your hand. Loving that wooden handle, I was skepitcal about the metal one on this one. But having it in my hand, it feels great. It's sharp and very easy to use. Best of all, this is not an expensive knife. Outstanding!

This review is from: Rada Cutlery Granny Paring Knife, Dishwasher Safe, Made in USA, Black Handle (W200)
love this little jewel! The women in my family have always had these little silver handled knives that growing up us kids weren't allowed to use. This one is the dishwasher black version. When I found this Rada knife went out and dug up grandmama's little silver knife. Yep, it's a Rada. Grandaddy says he only sharpened it about once a year. It's the best knife and he says when he dies I get that little jewel. He uses it every morning for his fried potatoes. It reminds me of a lot of great southern meals and family times, sitting around the table getting food ready to eat and doing a lot of canning.I'm so glad I found these knives & am working on getting the whole set.
