I'm Sold on Rada Knives,
This review is from: Rada Cutlery Regular Paring Knife, Made in USA, Aluminum Handle
I started buying Rada cutlery at one of the big Home & Garden Shows because I was tired of cheap knives and of peelers that just didn't work. This parer is simply the best for the price - you don't need to spend a fortune on the German brands - this U.S. made knife is every bit as good at a fraction of the price. The knife stays extremely sharp - I've nicked myself a number of times when I got too close to what I was cutting. You can keep the blade super sharp by using the Rada sharpner, so there's no need to replace this knife ever. The only drawback, if you are into appearances, is that the handle will discolor if it is not dried after washing or if you allow it to sit in water. Also, these knives should not be put in the dishwasher if you care about appearance - the handle will get darkened and somewhat pitted.

wonderful little knife,

This review is from: Rada Cutlery Regular Paring Knife, Made in USA, Aluminum Handle
I ordered this knife because of the reviews here and because you can't beat the price. When it came in the mail I was a little disappointed, because it was smaller and "less substantial" than I was expecting; I've always been partial to knives with a little heft to them, and this knife is so small and lightweight and the blade is so thin. I thought it looked almost like a scaled-down "travel" version of a paring knife. My opinion turned around completely after I spent the evening with it making applesauce and processing peaches for freezing. I find that the light weight and the small size make it feel almost like I have nothing at all in my hand. The blade is razor-sharp and the shape makes it very easy to maneuver quickly doing all those little slicing movements. And you know what processing peaches is like -- in no time at all your hands are covered with juice and the peeled peaches are round and slippery, not a good combination -- but the texture on the handle helped me to keep my grip on it without being obtrusive. The single drawback to this knife is that it *is* very compact and maybe someone with especially big hands would find it too small. I'm not petite, though, and the small size is more of an advantage to me than I ever would have imagined. I should probably get a spare, because going back to my Chicago Cutlery paring knife at this point would feel a bit like trading in a sports car for a delivery truck.

this knife is amazing! its small, holds a very nice edge, cuts through any kinds of foods, and durable. if you camp alot or are a survival junkie this knife is perfect for you, and when it does get dull it doesnt take much to get that edge back.
