Book Description

When part-time construction worker and full-time hustler Chris Turner meets the girl of his dreams in a Dairy Queen drive-through, he induces her to climb out of the window and run away with him. She is Janique, and she's everything he's ever wanted. So begins a love affair that defies reason. Submission, piercings, and mock kidnappings are just foreplay for what's to come.

The two hard-loving antiheroes are so in love, they'd rather rob stores and banks than spend their days apart. It's all fun and games until they end up in connected prisons. Then it's up to Chris to get them out again, using only brutality, heroin, and a book by Tom Robbins...

An epic love story, first in the Ultimate Hustle series. Definitely contains explicit language and situations. The sequel, Penultimate Hustle: Japan is out now...

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun read September 6, 2012

This book was a nice break from the sappy romance novels I've read lately. Almost all the way to the end, I didn't know if Chris and Janette were going to get out of prison and end up together. There are some typos, but not to an overwhelming degree. The story held my interest from start to finish and I definitely recommend it for something a little different.

3.0 out of 5 stars Give this one a try, if only to read a fun book! December 28, 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
You know those movies where you root for the bad guys because they aren't actually bad? This is one such story. This book is about two people in love-Chris and Janique and to what lengths they'd go to stay together.
Granted this book tries to make light of the issue of drug use but lesser so than in other books by the same author.
Chris is the guy we've all met-he's the student who gets bored in the class because he knows everything already. Janique is the spoilt rich girl who finds new depths when she applies herself. The couple face a lot of opposition from the girl's parents even before they go "Boonie & Clyde" (minus the killing).
Once apprehended and thrown in jail, they decide they wont let that deter them from living together forever. Then starts the awesome scheming and manipulating of the system while still in prison.
I enjoyed every bit of the book but of course, the last half was my favorite just because it was even more fast paced. The action, humor and quirkiness doesn't let up even once. Give this one a try, if only to read a fun book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Day Bonnie & Clyde December 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved the contrast of characters. He's a bad boy and she's an angel, so they're naturally perfect for each other. But when you live a life of crime, luck is not always on your side. I found myself cheering for Chris and Janique even while shaking my head at their lawless behavior. This story is very well written, and it will leave you guessing right up until the end. I can't wait to get started on more of Mr. Christie's books!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite from Christie so far March 10, 2013
By Megami
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've read a few of Christie's other titles (which I liked as well), but this is definitely my favorite.

The story takes an interesting twist on love and the struggles the star couple must surpass. There was never a dull moment in this story - every page was chalk-full of suspenseful (and sometimes raunchy) situation after situation. The raunchiness, however, does not take away from the overall story. Unique and refreshing, I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! June 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great story! Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Fell in love with the main characters right away, and I loved the way the story moved from present to reminiscing the past. It was a smooth transition and I didn't get lost like in some stories. There were twist and turns along the way and it made for an excellent story. The characters kind of reminded me of the movie "Natural Born Killers". Great story and I am looking forward to more by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Original, thrilling & unconventionally romantic! June 19, 2012
By Shanon
Format:Kindle Edition
I've never read a book quite like Radar Love before, and that's one of the things I like about it. The two main characters in this story are criminals but they are written in such a way that it's impossible not to root for them. The author created smart and likable characters and dropped them in an interesting setting to make one of the most non-traditional love stories I've ever read! This novel is also very original and unpredictable--every chapter was a surprise.

Janique and Chris are two people in love who also happen to be in prison throughout most of the book. They end up locked up because of their history of armed robbery. Despite the fact that these two are all about breaking the law, I had no problem liking their characters because they never had intentions of hurting anyone--although they both prove what lengths they will go to in order to protect eachother--they just wanted to experience some excitement and adventure together while scoring some cash to live on since they couldn't stand working separate jobs and being apart all day. I also found it hard not to grow fond of some of the secondary characters in this book; like the couple's fellow inmates, who provided me with some humor and knowledge of prison life.

The story jumps back and forth between Janique and Chris' present state in prison and their past experiences together. Several of their shared memories are extremely intense, steamy and explicit. They clearly have a very strong emotional and physical bond, and they can't stand being apart for any amount of time--which is why Chris creates a master plan to break them out of prison and reunite them.

The end of the book was very hectic and pungent, and I couldn't read fast enough to uncover the fate of Chris and Janique.

4.0 out of 5 stars uncommon love story April 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
lovely escape story with romance in the mix. i read it all in one sitting. nice detail and the plot`s twists and turns were planned out well. seems odd to set a love story in prison, two different ones no less, but the two min character would do anything to be together. their love seemed genuine.

More About the Author

In the metal underground, he was known as the drummer Jason Gortician. In the goofy world of nerd rap, he was High-C, an influential figure and star of the documentary "Nerdcore for Life". He's also an established inventor and designer of future technology, as evidenced by the 1998 academic paper "Toward Ultimate Reality".

Now he turns his experiences into underground novels full of lurid sex, drugs, and murder. And somehow, comedy.
