5.0 out of 5 stars Best GameBoy Game ever
Of the 50 GameBoy games I own, and the hundred or so that I've played, Radar Mission is my #1 favorite.

While Battleship can be pretty boring, Radar Mission has certainly spiced things up with extra play elements like near-miss, lucky 5 shot, aircraft launched from your carier mid-game, etc. These are all optionally specified advantages for either you or your opponent...

2.0 out of 5 stars A version of Battleship
All this game is basically is a version of Battleship that was desgined by Ninendo. It is alright for a quick waste of an hour or two. The other game included with this is a game where you are in command of a sub and trying the sink the enemy's fleet or other sub. Again a way to waste an hour or two. Not much beyond that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best GameBoy Game ever, February 1, 2002
This review is from: Radar Mission (Game Cartridge)
Of the 50 GameBoy games I own, and the hundred or so that I've played, Radar Mission is my #1 favorite.

While Battleship can be pretty boring, Radar Mission has certainly spiced things up with extra play elements like near-miss, lucky 5 shot, aircraft launched from your carier mid-game, etc. These are all optionally specified advantages for either you or your opponent or both. The music and eye-candy give satisfying rewards for completing each stage. The composition of each stage changes, with your opponent getting smaller pieces which makes it harder for you.

However, the jewel of this cart is the submarine torpedo game. This comes in 3 levels of difficulty, each with 3 stages. And if you've somehow mastered the basic game, then try directly killing the enemy sub in hard mode -- still haven't been able to do that 3 times in a row in the more advanced levels. But that's the only way to get the topmost score (and the topmost eye-candy as well.)

It's a quick pace game requiring strategy, timing and rapid play. The graphics are amazing for the format and the music and sound effects make it worth while connecting the stereo headphones.

Overall, this is an incredibly well-designed, tightly-executed, lavishly-rendered game that rocks. (Two games actually.) After 5 years of play, it is still at the very top of my fun list.

Man! This game was the best game I ever had. I'd never go on long road trips without it. Battleship was inproved whith added stuff like the lucky five shot. Also there was that fun little aircraft that I loved to see shot down. You can also play 2 player. Buy it. It's an awesome game.
