Editorial Reviews

Trace Ventura - CFOX Radio

"The songs are majestic and monumental...very intricately orchestrated, arranged, and produced...a bold and wildly adventurous CD..."

Product Description

Just over 2 years in the making, "Radiate" is a completely self-produced masterwork, sonic variety, orchestral guitar textures, multi-layered vocals, and very importantly guest musicians and musical flavours where necessary. Strings, keyboards and female backing singers are just a few of the elements that make "Radiate" a complete and fully realized Warjunk experience Key tracks include "Cross The World", with haunting, earth mother guest vocals by transplanted San Francisco artist Teresa Duke. "Broken", a spiritual relationship tale, not unlike a Rick Rubin produced Johnny Cash recording. "The Thing", a modern backbeat groover with an unbelievable crunch in the guitars and a pointed rap leading the way to a guitar journey home. And, finally a remake of the classic, swirling keyboard beauty of the Stranglers, "Golden Brown". Told thought the musical eyes of a beautiful guitar arrangement with a ballerina-esque slide guitar waltzing over the changes, this is truly a reinvention of this already flawless composition. The final track, "Thru The Ages", is a testament to the spirit of open jamming, ala Hendrix, which attracted guest musicians to the sessions. Above all, "Radiate" is an album. It is meant to flow the way a record did when we all got turned on to music in the first place. "The songs are majestic and monumental...very intricately orchestrated, arranged, and produced...a bold and wildly adventurous CD...aim is much higher than MOST (of the indies) i hear..." Trace Ventura - CFOX Radio The single, "Cross The World" get's under the skin, right away. The guitar's crash and swirl, as does the entire song. New elements drift in and out, providing new hooks around every corner. All in all, an intoxicating cocktail of eargasmic pleasure!

5.0 out of 5 stars "5 Stars Please", October 26, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Radiate (Audio CD)
Wow, this is rich! Rich in texture. Rich in style. Very diverse, yet the flow is great. I didn't want it to stop! I don't know how to describe it, maybe if Bowie was hanging with the 70's Floyd and a mellow Trent Reznor swung by with some vintage wine and they all sat around and listened to the Stone Rose and Zeppelin all weekend. Something like that anyway, I mean who cares this is so damn cool, it has it's own identity. Imagine that! I picked this album up in Vancouver and was blown away. I'd seen Warjunk live a couple of times a while back and loved their trip. Their live show is a real visual spectacle. It intrigued me enough to seek out their new album when I heard it was dropping. All I can say is KILLER! A real find! "Cross The World", is infectious like a disease - especially that recurring lead guitar. I wish more album's were this wicked these days...my faith is renewed! Highly recommended
