20 great rock spoofs,bad production,
By Isaiah Cardenas (oak hills/ca/usa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Radical History Tour (Audio CD)
This is Apologetix's first albulm, oringinaly on tape in 1994,but rerealeased on cd in 1999.Being their first recording, the production is pretty bad,but they spoof great old classic rock songs, like Queen,Batchmen turner overdrive,Rolling stones,Arosmith,Led Zeplin and others(20 songs) This is not their best release,so if you just want a great release, buy one of their newer records(spoofernatural, keep the change)but if your a fan like me,this album is a must for your collection.

Apologetix: Not Stealin', but Having Fun-Legal & Ethical,
By HarryRfromNE (North Shore area of MA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Radical History Tour (Audio CD)
The reviewer who whined that Apologetix is stealing because they took existing songs and supposedly 'corrected' them: He doesn't even know what parody is about.
Parodies aren't corrections, but ... PARODIES! If this group wants to take great songs and have fun with them by turning them into Christian songs, then it is fine. It is BOTH legal and ethical. They DO make a legit living, and get their message across and have fun doing it. I love parody music, and Apologetix- no matter what you think of their Christianity- are a great example of parody music done right. Get this group's CDs and enjoy them! |
