Book Description

March 1, 2001 1568982860 978-1568982861
Lebbeus Woods is widely regarded as the most exciting and original architectural visionary today. His body of theoretical work and extraordinary drawings have served as inspiration for architects, artists, and legions of students. Radical Reconstruction, now available in paperback for the first time, contains projects that address the relationships between architecture and war, political revolution/reaction, and natural disasters. These projects define new approaches to the reconstruction of buildings and urban fabric damaged by unpredictable and largely uncontrollable forces of both human and natural origin.

5.0 out of 5 stars woods is brilliant June 9, 2000
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
lebbeus woods' visions cross the border between real and apocalyptic. his highly evocative renderings are rooted in his surrounding environment, but they move us to the realm of fantasmic architecture. brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection of his work March 1, 2013

Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
As an architecture student this is a great book to get some insight on his ideas and have excellent examples of his work. The SFMOMA exhibit has alot of the work in this book and I'm glad because I thought some of these would have been harder to find.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not his best, but still good November 21, 2001
Format:Paperback
Lebbeus Woods is perhaps unequalled, and definitely the most imitated renderer in the architectural world. With that said, this book is just a shadow of his masterpiece, "Anarchitecture: Architecture as a Political Act"

I recommend this for thos who already know Woods and can't get enough of him, but as an introduction, definitely read Anarchitecture.
