3.0 out of 5 stars Allen Chapman was a pseudonym, February 9, 2004

One would hope that someone selling the complete series would do a little research. "Allen Chapman" was a pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate, a phenomenal organization which produced many popular series books for children, including the Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Tom Swift, and the Bobbsey Twins. It was founded by Edward Stratemeyer (1862-1930) in 1905 and continued by his daughters.

This group created story concepts and outlines which were given to hired ghostwriters. The writers were paid a flat fee for all rights to the stories on which they worked.

"Allen Chapman" was used on many Syndicate series and single titles, including Fred Fenton, the Ralph of the Railroad series, the Darewell Chums, Tom Fairfield, and the Boys of Business.

In the case of the "Allen Chapman" Radio Boys series, most of the volumes were written by John W. Duffield.

The "About the Author" section refers to two other "Radio Boys" series. There were actually many more. However, this was the only Syndicate series.

The disk came with no materials whatsover. It was loosely shrinkwrapped and could easily have been hand-made by someone with a CD burner. I didn't feel very good about it, so I returned it for credit.
