This great new CD features the soundtrack to one of the country's favorite shows. I've never seen this in New York City, but the Rockettes are touring with their show this year and are coming to my town. Having heard so much about the show from my friends over the years, I immediately ordered tickets. After listening to this CD, I can't wait to see the show. The CD features 11 tracks, ranging from Santa's Gonna Rock and Roll, Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree, and Parade Of The wooden Soldiers, to The Man With The Bag, Toyland Ball and The Nativity, a Christmas Carol medley. There's plenty on this CD to quickly put you in the holiday spirit. The orchestra, as expected, is great and there are over 30 songs in the 11 tracks. There's plenty of dancing and singing. A nice full color brochure is included with the CD providing some background information on the show, which began running in 1933 !! A very welcome treasure to everyone's CD collection. Get it and you'll enjoy it every year.

I can't say enough positive things about this CD. I have only purchased it last year and it has immediately become my new favorite Christmas album! The orchestra really brings to life more traditional holiday favorites while introducing some new songs that are DESTINED to become family classics. This album gets played from start to finish and then started right up again during the holidays! I also don't think you need to see the Christmas Spectacular to appreciate it. It's upbeat jingles and medleys will have you tapping your toes in your living room--though I will admit, after having seen the musical in person, my love of the CD skyrocketed becuase I now had a jolly Christmas image to associate with the tunes. Plus this CD is very reasonably priced for the kind of listening you'll get out of it--truly one of my favorite holiday compilations! Big time, Big Band, Merry Merry Christmas!

I saw the touring version of the Radio City Rockettes in 2002 and was hoping that this CD would allow me to relive the wonderful show. Unfortunately, on the CD there are many songs that were not in the show or were different versions of the songs. If you haven't seen the show - go - don't use this CD as a supplement. If you went to see the show - buy the CD there when it comes in town next. Perhaps they will have a more accurate CD.

This CD allows you to bring the world's famous christmas show into your living room. It gives an up close picture of the cast singing all those songs that make this America's favorite Christmas show

This CD was in brand new condition and arrived quickly, however it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I had had another Radio City Music Hall christmas cd for years and loved it, so I thought I would love this one too. But the Santa character that does a lot of the speaking/singing in most of these songs didn't really appeal to me. I guess it is just not as traditional a song collection as the other CD I had. This one was a great deal for the price if you happen to like this sort of music but it didn't appeal to my taste.

After seeing the Christmas spectacular in Radio City, we bought this CD for our Grand-daughter so she can relive the experience over again. She loved it and played it over and over again.

After seeing the Radio Music Hall Rockettes show five times, I had to have this CD. What a special Christmas tradition.

This cd is amazing. It brings you back to the great orhestra and chorus' of the 1950's and 1960's (though in a modern production/sound). If you like the LIVING STRINGS AND LIVING VOICES - WHITE CHRISTMAS album or PERCY FAITH - CHRISTMAS IS album, then you will probably like this cd alot. Some great orchestra music in a very 'christmas' style with great chorus singing in most of the songs (a couple are instrumentals but wonderfully done). There are also a little bit of soloists here and there singing including a Santa character. This Santa character also narrates to us a bit as he answers letters from children (with music backing him up) before turning into a song or medley of songs.

Though I gave the comparisons above to the LIVING STRINGS AND LIVING VOICES and PERCY FAITH, this RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR cd really does have it's own style (including some really neat arrangements of many songs).

Great songs (most in medleys) include HAPPY HOLIDAYS, IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK ALOT LIKE CHRISTMAS, SILVER BELLS, WHITE CHRISTMAS, THE CHRISTMAS WALTZ, WELCOME CHRISTMAS, THE MAN WITH THE BAG, etc... and a nice religious medley at the end. Some of these songs are among my favorite version of each song if not my very favorite version (especially WELCOME CHRISTMAS and THE MAN WITH THE BAG).

If you like great orchestra and chorus music from decades ago, then you should really like this cd which is also great for families and children, especially do to the Santa character.

A christmas 'music must have' for something new, different, yet traditonal at the same time.
