Funny, Serious, and everything in between,
By G Guess (Arkansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Radio (Audio CD)
I had the pleasure of attending Mr. Brodsky's performance at a small bookstore. (A BIG thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Walls who arranged the concert.) To say the least, he opened my heart and mind. Chuck has an uncanny ability to write the spoken word and note in a way I have never seen. Whether you enjoy traditional or non traditional, you need to open yourself up to one of Folk's greatest kept secrets.

WOW!,
By Edward T. Bennett (Northern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Radio (Audio CD)
My brother-in-law introduced us to Chuck Brodsky with this album. Since then we've purchased his two other albums and we were so excited about this young folksinger, that we travelled 300 miles for a moving coffeehouse performance. "Radio" (and for that matter the earlier "Letters in the Dirt") is a charming "first time listen", but we found ourselves replaying each song in order to understand each word and fully appreciate his wonderful poety. Chuck has an uncanny ability to make his characters and stories come to life. It is hard not to be touched. "Radio" get's my album-of-the-year-award!

Folk Guitarist's Favorite,
By A Customer
This review is from: Radio (Audio CD)
I first heard Mr. Broadsky perform on public radio. I also play folk guitar (just for my family) and I thought his songs were insightful and fun, so I immediatly bought myself the CD "Radio". Now it's one of my favorite CD's (and my cowboy-husband's favorite too)!

Sounds like John Prine!,
By Michael D Bowers (Clermont, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Radio (Audio CD)
John Prine has always been a favorite of mine and now Chuck is too. "Radio" is a great story and perfectly told. It makes me want to go to a highschool football game in Anderson S.C. and see the warmth the song portrays. Chuck Brodsky for his stories and Carla Ulbrich for her humor have become my modern day folk favorites! Get this CD, you won't be disappointed. Mike

Funny-Poetic-Great Sound: A Must!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Radio (Audio CD)
I was introduced to Chuck Brodsky's music at a recent coffeehouse performance in our area. It was excellent! From the insightful and slightly sentimental (Radio, Come Heres and Been Heres) to the humorous (On Christmas I Got Nothin') to the outrageous (Blow 'Em Away) to the athletic (Hockey Fight Song)--wait, did I say athletic? Brodsky combines great stories with rich music. Radio is currently my favorite CD.
