Blimp at altitude,

This review is from: Radio Control Goodyear Blimp (Style May Vary) (Toy)
Blimp seemed ok, but did not come with helium (understandable) or two
sided tape (inexcusable), and hard to find battery (a real negative). so one had to go out and buy both. Then there is a big problem.....blimp does not lift off adequately at higher altitudes (like Denver, 5000ft+) at all. Turns out even the real one does not go there. So in Denver, the present for the 8 year old turned out to be a science lesson rather than a toy. Should say this when buying and also make clear what batteries are needed. An interesting downer.

Too much fun,
This review is from: Radio Control Goodyear Blimp (Style May Vary) (Toy)
This is an addictive toy.
It doesn't take very long to get the hang of it once the ballast is squared away. My 12 year old nephew loves it

This review is from: Radio Control Goodyear Blimp (Style May Vary) (Toy)
Received my RC Goodyear blimp and it appeared in good shape. Having read the reviews, I had also bought a tank of helium ,the two batteries required to make this toy operable, and the double sided tape required for assembly. These items are not included. Assembly was pretty straight forward. My first complaint is there should be an instruction to install the batteries in the RC control unit (transmitter) and blimp gondola (receiver) BEFORE inflating/assembling blimp. Then check to make sure they operate. If they don't, send it back. Once the blimp is inflated, there is no way to deflate the blimp without damaging it. Now you're stuck with it. Mine did not work. The small electric engines that control the blimp's movement were intermittent in operation. I discovered that holding the transmitter's antenna against the blimp's receiver antenna (a thin wire hanging from the gondola) resulted in reliable operation. Of course, that means you are stuck following the toy around to get it to work. As soon as transmitter antenna contact with the receiver antenna was broken, the engines stopped working reliably. Basically I am stuck with a $100 Mylar helium balloon that just rests on the ceiling. If it doesn't deflate itself within the return period, I will not be able to package and return this toy.
