Excellent product! Just as described. Creates a quality experience. Bought 1 King Tiger (for me) and 3 Shermans (for my 3 Great-Nephews). 1.0 out of 5 stars QC and Engineering Issues
Purchased a Sherman and Tiger. The Tiger has proven (after maybe 8 hours of run time) to be a good machine. Our Sherman(s) have problems. The first Sherman arrived with a very wobbly rear wheel . . . track did not run smooth (could even hear the difference from one side to the next). Returned to the retailer . . . Returned to the retailer . . . I paid the return shipping cost. The second Sherman still had a wobbly rear wheel but not as bad . . accepted it as it was a day or two before Christmas. After approx. 1-2 hours of running time, the barrel failed to elevate . . . the motor/drive case was not sufficiently screwed together. This was followed by an inability to trim the drive on one side of the tank due to a stress crack in the d-hub in the controller . . fixed with some glue but the d-hub for the other side cracked to the point to where glue can't fix it so we've resorted to using the Tiger controller (so no more one on one battles). Also have had two "bearings" fail (stress fractures) on the smaller wheels . . . .one behind the front drive wheel and one in front of the rear wheel. Lastly, one suspension spring has failed. The tank has max 8 hours of total running time, probably a lot less. Overall, a cool product but way too many issues.

Excellent product! Just as described. Creates a quality experience. Bought 1 King Tiger (for me) and 3 Shermans (for my 3 Great-Nephews). Had one issue with one Sherman (Bad crystal connection on tank). Excellent customer service. Sent tank back and promtly received a new replacement. Only other issue was receiving two of the other Sherman tanks with the same crystal frequency (done during packaging prior to shipping). Customer service sent me a replacement crystal set immediately, which I easily changed myself). Overall a great experience. Remember, we are dealing with electronic devices, which can be damaged during shipment, etc. I anticipated issues with at least one tank. The boys enjoy their time with these. They learn fast (Ages 3,7,8). Yes, while the controller is a bit large for his hands, the 3 year old has mastered it. He won the 2nd round! The others won quickly too. I even practiced for a few weeks! #$%@^& kids today! :)

Tiger tank is Junk, DO NOT, wast your money. Out of the box it looked great. Within 5 minutes on carpet it threw a track....I was able to fix it, not sure how long it will last :) Then, it ran (both tracks) and DOES NOT respond to the remote AT ALL.....

Another WONDERFUL piece of trash from China :)

While this and the companion tank (Tiger I) were not cheap, they have provided many hours of entertainment. The package comes with the tank, controller and IR target. The tanks requires 6 double A batteries. I would suggest rechargeable. You can play with the tanks for about 2 hours on a set of batteries before the tanks noticeably slow and become less likely to hit a target. The controller requires a 9 volt and the target requires 2 AAA batteries. The target will last quite some time. We have yet to replace those or the controller batteries.

The tanks seem to do well on almost any surface. Yes, if you create ramps, you can climb stairs or steps. The tanks are plastic and while they are fairly rugged, one has to remember that they are not indestructable. The manufacturer has provided spare tread parts in case the treads do come off. The treads are fairly simple to put back on the tank. The first time will require a little patience.

My daughter, wife and I have had battles all over the house with these. Every friend of mine has decided to stop by and "try" them out. You just can't play once! So I would say they are good for all ages...even the big boys and girls.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fun tanks, great introduction to R/C, January 22, 2012

Picked up two Pershings and a Sherman for my sons (now ages 4 and 7) and I to play with. We've had the tanks over a year now and all have proven to be reliable. They are not quite hobby grade, but they are very high quality for an R/C toy (relative to other R/C toys which are often pure junk). And if you've seen the prices on hobby grade R/C tanks, you'll quickly realize that these, while not cheap, are quite good value for what they are, a reliable and fun R/C vehicle with great play value thanks to the "laser tag" IR battle system.

The tanks have proven reliable so far after quite a number of sessions. The batteries last a surprisingly long time considering all the motorization of tracks, turret and barrel, but as another reviewer mentioned, rechargeables are a good call. We mostly drive these on hardwood floors but carpet has proven fine too. Not sure if I think they'd be good to use outdoors as they don't appear to be waterproof in any way.

I hope this line of products sticks around, tanks are definitely a great way to get younger kids into R/C that aren't quite ready for the speed (and crashes) of an R/C car or helicopter. Tanks are the perfect solution, and they avoid getting boring because of the battle system, which works quite well. Very fun!
