This cd (like all in this series) is filled with music from a by-gone time. Back when actually being able to sing (without "auto-tune"...) was actually seen as a necessity to being a recording artist! A lot of emphasis was also placed on crafting memorable songs (oh the good old days!) Most of these songs were "hits", believe it or not! They actually hit the "Top 40" and were played on the radio!! Sadly, most of them have all been forgotten by even the "oldies" stations (in favor of the "essentials" such as "Jessie's Girl" and the few other songs from the late 70's and early 80's deemed "memorable" enough to play...) This collection is an absolute TREASURE TROVE for all of us "30-somethings" to "50-somethings" who actually enjoyed the variety of "soft rock" and "country-pop" hits that were played from the mid-seventies to the mid-eighties!!! It will bring back lots of great musical memories, I assure you!!

This compilation contains 3 hits that I desperately wanted to add to my MP3 collection. However, as with any pop compilation CD I buy now, the rest of the CD is strictly repeats of cuts I have on at least 1 if not three or four others. There simply is no CD collection of any decade that is all inclusive. Time/Life has come closest. Overall, if you are an 80's hit fan this CD is one of the better ones you will find. It has superb sound quality and provides a good cross section of the decades top hits.

Like volume one, the hits are cancelled out by the misses, but the more popular songs are worth the price of the CD. All original versions.
