4.0 out of 5 stars Good But........
We have had this wagon for a year now. It is still wheeling along, but the paint is peeling off and there are a few spots of rust and the wooden stakes on the sides are almost off too. The review says not to use it for rocks and firewood because the rails are small. I would have to add to that list a 28 pound 2 year old that just can't sit still because that has made...

When we recieved this wagon as a gift, we were anxious to begin taking our 3 year old and one year old for rides in the neighborhood, but we soon found that even with blankets, the wagon is uncomfortable for the kids, and we find it hard to maneuver. The sides are pretty low, and there is no padding or storage space. We have had this wagon for a year now. It is still wheeling along, but the paint is peeling off and there are a few spots of rust and the wooden stakes on the sides are almost off too. The review says not to use it for rocks and firewood because the rails are small. I would have to add to that list a 28 pound 2 year old that just can't sit still because that has made the wood railings come off also. I guess for one of their lower end wagons it was a good deal while it lasted but I am looking into a larger more comfortable one now. THe wheels on this one are quite small and hard to manuever unless you are on the street. (it is nearly impossible to get up and down off the sidewalk if there is no built in ramp) And don't even bother pulling it through grass. Spend the extra money and get one of the all terrain wheeled wagons.... it will be worth it!!

I was really disappointed that the paint began to peel after just one year, even though the wagon was kept in the garage. Now we have a Step Two Wagon for two, and we are much happier.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little wagon, February 20, 2005

This is a nice wagon but we have had the same trouble as others - the wood sides just don't hold up. They fall out all the time and it just gets aggravating. Wish I would have thought about an all-terrain wagon - that certainly would have lasted longer and I wouldn't be so aggravated. The assembly was okay, but I just think for the money, you could get something that was a little nicer and would hold up better. I'm thinking about replacing ours with something more sturdier. Our little one is quite rambunctious with things and this wagon really has trouble keeping up with our little one.

We bought this for our daughter who just turned one.....along with the padding which I think is a necessity....and she just loves to go for walks in her wagon! My husband and I love to watch her lean back and relax in her big comfy wagon. This is a great, sturdy toy that lives up to the Radio Flyer name!

I bought this wagon for my son when he turned 2 yrs old. My son is 3 1/2 now and the wagon is still in great shape! We keep it in his room and he uses it to store all of his toys during the cold months. When it's nice outside, I take him out in the wagon and he has a ball. I don't see any signs of chipping and the wooden sides are still sturdy. I highly recommend the Radio Flyer Trav-ler Wagon!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We ordered this for our son's first birthday. I came right on time and my husband put it together with very little effort. We LOVE it, it's sturdy as can be and our son loves to ride in it, push it, pull it, put his toys in it, etc. It's heavy so it's a little harder to take places unlike the plastic ones but we haven't felt the need to travel with it. The wooden sides make it safer and our son can fit more stuff in it, like our border collie, Ziggy, no joke.

I had the version of this without the wooden rails as a kid, and it stood up to all kinds of abuse including being left outside to the elements for weeks at a time. It was bought before I was born, which would make it at least 32 years old, and though rusty, it is still in good working order at my parents' house. Of course when I had kids of my own, I had to get one for myself. I got the Trav-ler with the wooden rails three years ago, and so far it has held up very well. I keep it in my garage when not in use, which helps with the longevity. I think that those reviewers who have had broken wooden rails have been probably using the product for purposes for which it was not intended. They have probably been leaving it outside, allowing the railing to rot, and putting high and heavy loads in it which have stressed the rails. Remember, this wagon is intended to be a children's toy, not a heavy-duty hand truck. That being said, however, as long as it is not overloaded it can be used for light hauling in the backyard. One reviewer said that the wheels on this wagon make it hard to maneuver, and not to bother trying to pull it through grass. I have not found this to be true at all. I have St. Augustine grass, some of the thickest grass you can have, and I can wheel the wagon through it even when my grass needs mowing in the thick of summer. As for the complaint about the difficulty of pulling it up and down the sidewalk without a ramp - it handles it about as well as any wheeled vehicle, including a bicycle. The only issue I have with this wagon is it is really loud when pulling it on a paved street, especially when it is empty, because of the hard, thin wheels. To remedy that, I'm going to put on the All Terrain Wheels.

Great, sturdy, shiny wagon with wooden sides. Easy to assemble and loved by all. My granddaughter insisted on opening all her Christmas presents while sitting in her new wagon.

This wagon is definitely worth the money in the medium price range. It has been very durable thus far.

Important to me was that it was easy to assemble and did not require a lot of tools. This is a definite plus and is what prospective buyers should know. Otherwise a wagon is basically a wagon.
