4.0 out of 5 stars We love this bike!
[...] We got this for our son for Christmas and he loves it. He just turned 5 and has a bike with training wheels but it's still too big for him. I don't really like the idea of training wheels anyway so I started looking for something like this balancing bike. I saw a German one for $350 so I was thrilled to find this one for under $100.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy!!
The bike was easy to put together, but what a pain to use! The front of the bike came pre-assembled and was not straight! So the bike would not go straight. I was very disappointed and even more so when I when to return it. The Shipping was very expensive and that was not refundable! I do not recomend this item!!!!

It was so easy to assemble. I love that the seat height adjusts. My son rides it around the house and after just a few tries was able to coast down the hall on it with his feet off the floor. I think it's a much better way to learn to ride a bike.

The quality is good, the seat has a bit of padding, and I expect it will hold up well for my other child when she's old enough to ride it in a couple more years.

I gave it four stars instead of five because it's put together with screws, it's not fine craftsmanship. Best buy in its category though.

Bought this for my son aged 3.5 but he doesn't enjoy as much as I was certain he would. It's early days yet, and I'm hoping he'll catch on to the principle. He prefers his scooter but this balancing think should be the next step because he's very poor on his "real" bike.
The thing is very well made, elegant, high quality materials. At any rate, it makes ME happy after dealing with all the low-grade stamped and tube steel junk coming out of China and Toys R Us. For these reasons this would be a perfect toddler gift -- will make you appear thoughtful and tasteful.

Now, off to try to get my son to like it again! Maybe a horn...?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great bike!, August 30, 2008

My son received this as a hand-me-down from an older friend who didn't use it very much. My son was barely 2 1/2 when we received this and although he was excited about having a "big bike" he was too timid to ride it for quite a while. A few months later and he's coasting down hills and turning all while his feet are off the ground.
He'll be turning 3 next week and we're buying him a 12' bike without training wheels. It took a while for my son to warm up to this bike, but it was well worth the wait!
I give this bike 4 1/2 stars because the screws are now coming loose and need to be tightened often. I think this may be because my son is riding this several times a day and is going very fast and over various terrain (sidewalk, bumps, off the curb, through woodchips)and he also often drops it after he's done riding it instead of setting it down gently. Overall I strongly reccomend this product and would buy another one. Other than the screws loosening, the bike has held up well, the seat has a small tear from a fall, but the wood still looks great. The tires and handle bars have held up perfectly.

I wanted to get a pedal-less bike for my 3 year old, he was too big for his Kettler trike but not ready for a 2 wheeler, even with training wheels. On the advice of his preschool teacher, I looked for a bike like this to help him develop a sense of balance and the rules of the road for bike riding. We couldn't be more pleased with this bike. Significantly less expensive that other "like-a-bikes," this is easy to assemble, easy to ride and sturdy. My son rides it to school every day -- no more hassles about not wanting to walk!

This bike is great for kids who are not yet old enough to ride a regular bike. Teaches them balance, and they have a blast with it. Seat tore pretty early on, but that's the only real durability issue we've had.

This bike is great to take the kids for a ride and a walk for myself. I assemble the bike with my husband and it has been working just great. It's a very durable due to the fact that my nine years had sat in it a couple times and it's still standing. My son is working on pedaling himself which this bike is helping him out.
