Easy to assemble too and very sturdy.

He is an average height for his age and has no trouble reaching the pedals with the seat adjusted to the shortest setting.
Melissa Miller
He has to really push on the pedals and the wheels seem to get stuck.

My daughter turned 21 months this Christmas and it was time to get her a tricycle. Ended up she got 3 for Christmas! Hands down this was the best of the bunch, WELL MADE and really nice for the money. Also she was able to use this one the best due to the lower seat height. The other tricycles seemed to be to high for for to safety ride, considering she is still learning how to balance and paddle.

A very high quality produce that will be around for many years...

We bought this for our son for his second birthday. I love that it keeps him active outside, but he hasn't quite figured out how to pedal yet. He prefers to push it from behind up and down our block. I brought it inside to sit in front of him on the carpet and show him how to pedal and he has made a lot of progress. Soon I'll be running after him, I am sure!! The trike fits him great though--at 2'11" and 32 pounds he is at the shortest setting so this trike will grow with him until he is ready for training wheels.

We have purchased this flyer for our 2.5 year old. I am basing my review on the construction and assembly aspect of the product as my child will not put it to use until Christmas day. We were very pleased with the easy assembly of the flyer and had no problems putting it together. The plastic appears to be of quality durable construction and for the price, we are very pleased. My only disappointment is that I paid more for this two weeks ago on Amazon than it is listed for today. The price keeps fluctuating so watch out! I had spied it one day at a great price but by night time, when I went to order, it was a good bit more. Anyway, it was still a good price in my book and I am hoping it will get lots of use.

***UPDATE*** My son loves his flyer. We have not yet taken it outside as he is content driving around in the house on the hardwoods. The tires are smooth so they do not damage the floor.

My soon to be 3-year old grandsons love it. Closed to smallest size, it fits them perfectly. By the time they out grow it, it will be time for a bike.

After assembly, one of the rear wheels wouldn't turn. Thinking I might have hammered the push nut with too much force, I tried to loosen or remove it. After removing it with much difficulty*, I discovered that the painted metal axle was too thick for the plastic wheel hub--it fit too tightly for the wheel to turn. I remedied this by sandpapering the red paint off the axle. Fortunately, the trike came with an extra push nut, so it reassembled just fine, with only some cosmetic damage from my struggle to remove the wheel.

So here's how to prevent much frustration: BEFORE hammering on the push nuts, first check to see that the rear wheel rotate easily around the axle. You may have to sandpaper off some paint.

*The push nuts aren't designed to ever be removed. I eventually discovered I could pry off the red plastic cap with a flathead screwdriver, and then cut the metal collar with the cut-off blade on a Dremel rotary tool.

This bike must have been designed for looks only. The functionality leaves everything to be desired. We tried adjusting, greasing and reassembling the bike, but it's just too hard for our child to pedal. Take your child to a toy store and let them try out bikes before purchasing anything.

I chose this over a more upright, old-school tricycle, thinking it would be more stable since it's lower to the ground. It took about 45 minutes to put it together. Not difficult. Just need a hammer and Phillips screwdriver. Unfortunately, a main part--a piece that holds the front wheel in place was missing. The company gladly ships them out free if you call, but it's a pain nonetheless. My boy is too short for this at 25 months and he's about the 50-60 percentile for his height. One thing that's hard for little ones is this low-to-the-ground style. And here is why... if your child doesn't yet know how to peddle, this style makes it harder. Why? Because he/she needs to keep his/her legs at a 45 degree angle which is work in itself for a child who doesn't know that continuous pressure needs to be applied to the peddles to keep the feet on them. Essentially, they're fighting against gravity because the weight of their legs causes their feet to fall off the peddles. Oh well. Returning this for several reasons. I think a more upright trike is better for a child to learn how to peddle. Once they get the concept, this would probably be fine. Er, if it shipped with the part that holds the front tire on, that is. By the way, if you were wondering... the tires are plastic... not rubber. Might be a problem on some very slippery floors.

Radio Flyer Grow 'N Go Flyer

We bought this for our son's 2nd birthday and he has never really been able to pedal with it so it has been completely unused for the past 2 years. My son is able to pedal his friend's tricycles so it is not due to his inability. The pedals and wheels get stuck and/or seem to "slide" without providing any forward motion or traction with the wheels. We tried a variety of floor surfaces and it didn't make a difference. We do not recommend this product at all.
