5.0 out of 5 stars Too cute
My son received this coupe for his 2nd birthday and I've been unable to get him out of it since then. The radio plays three short tunes, the blinkers (on the inside of the car) blink, and he has a horn. His favorite things, however, are the door and the steering wheel. The "floor board" slides forward if they want their feet up, or back if they want to "drive"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Kids love it, but it is too flimsy.
I bought this toy for my daughter at the beginning of summer, and she absolutely loved it. The problem is that you can only drive it on a hard surface. We took it camping with us and the front tire snapped when pushing our daughter through some tall grass. My other complaint is that the color faded to a dingy pink within two months. On the bright side, my daughter...

My son received this coupe for his 2nd birthday and I've been unable to get him out of it since then. The radio plays three short tunes, the blinkers (on the inside of the car) blink, and he has a horn. His favorite things, however, are the door and the steering wheel. The "floor board" slides forward if they want their feet up, or back if they want to "drive" themselves around. And, the handle extends to a nice height, even for tall parents, so you aren't forced to bend over in order to push them around. The only downside I see is the wheels are - as with a lot of push/pull toys - two pieces of plastic snapped together to form the wheel, so you can already see where much wear on them on outside surfaces would cause the wheels to crack in half. That is a downside, since, due to the nice handle in the back, it would be great to use outdoors when I go on walks, but I'm really afraid it will shorten the "life" of the toy.

My son just got this for his first birthday and it was the hit of the party! He obviously can't push himself around in it yet, but he LOVES to sit in in and have us push him around the house. The handle is adjustable, so his big brothers can push him around and then we can extend the handle and me or my husband can push him without breaking our backs. I am looking forward to using it on walks this summer! The only thing I wish was different, is that I wish there was a seatbelt inside. My little guy wants to stand on the seat all the time!

I bought the Radio Flyer Sport Coupe a couple of months ago when my son was about 7mths old. Honestly, I initially was going to purchase this car for looks! But after reading reviews and comparing prices. I decided that for the length of time that he could use this car, it's worth the extra $$. Plus it's way nicer looking than anything else out there. As soon as it arrived I started putting it together. Instructions are fairly easy and pretty fool proof. My son just sat in his walker waiting patiently, but the second I put him in he grabbed the wheel and had a huge smile on his face. Prior reviews mentioned the car not having a seatbelt, but it does now and yes you do need it! This car was a lifesaver over the Summer! I also have an 8 year old that plays softball and we are ALWAYS at the park. Now the baby gets to cruise around the fields in style and I don't have a fussy baby stuck in a stroller. PLUS! 8 & 9 year old girls love pushing little babies around! The reason I said you need the seatbelt is because of the side door that has the ability to open and close. He was not buckled in and leaned over the side trying to reach for something and kerplunk! He rolled out! Luckily onto carpet since we were indoors, so he was fine! Also, some people complained about the wheels. They are plastic and do not have any traction, but we've done just fine at parks over dirt, grass, hills, concrete..etc.

Now...my only complaint! And I'm not sure how this happened, but from one day to the next the left front wheel started to wobble. I noticed the part where the bearing is may be a little loose. Not sure if this just happened on it's own or if the older kids who thought it would be fun to push their 3 year old little sister a little too hard around the park did it. Either way, I need to see if I could tighten the wheel. All it does is wobble, the car still works fine and we are still using it.

So other than that! Love this car! As a matter of fact, I used it earlier this evening while my daughter took her dog for a walk. It gets "oohs and aahs" from onlookers everytime.

I bought this Push and ride car for my daughters first birthday. She loves it. We have a long lane and she enjoys riding out to get the mail. My biggest complaint about all the riding and push toys is the plastic wheels. They make a noisy ride. She likes to open and close door and the cute music. It does not have seat belts to keep her from standing up. Over all we have allot of fun and would highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Grandparents - Read Before Buying, January 6, 2011

Some of what I may write here may be obvious but it wasn't obvious for my parents. My parents got this car for my son's first birthday and we've had it for a year. It's a nice car in a lot of ways but there are a few points I want to make.

Do not buy this if you don't have a lot of inside space to store it (garage, large basement, etc.). We have neither a garage nor a finished basement. This car has electronics in it and can't be stored outside. It is very large and we have to find somewhere in our urban house to store it the vast majority of the year. This had been our living room because it's so large to take upstairs. Not cool.

This is best for those with driveways or large open interior spaces. Again, we have neither. There's really no where for our son to ride this around unless we take him to the playground down the street. The problem with that is we need to take him on brick sidewalks which is a VERY bumpy ride because of the hollow plastic wheels. This was designed to be played with on a relatively smooth flat surface. Do not buy this if you don't have that.

And like any good gift from the grandparents it makes a lot of noise, mostly from the radio which is a cool idea...but noisy.

My son likes this overall to the very limited extent he can ride it around our small Victorian home or our small patio. I could see how this would be popular with our son if we lived in a completely different house in a different area so I'll give it four stars even though I find it to be a little flimsy. For us personally in our living situation I give it more like 2-stars. This item works much better in some houses and living situations than others so consider that before buying.

I just got this for my son and usually love Radio Flyer items. However, I found this to be quite cheaply made. Here are some issues: The wheels swivel, but they are so flexible that they even collapse underneath the car from time to time. I was exited about the fact the tray that keeps his feet in the car, but when it is extended, it rubs the wheels making it quite difficult to move at all! Also, the door comes off almost every time my 18 month old son opens or closes it. It is really cute and my son still likes to get in it, but as for functionality, it is awful!

We currently own the RF Walker Wagon, RF Scoot About, RF Soft Rock & Bounce Pony w/Sound and now the RF Sport Coupe. The coupe is by far the biggest piece of crap and was also the most expensive. The Wagon and Scoot About are nice solid pieces that will last for years to come and the pony is OK although mostly plastic. I knew purchasing this that it was almost 100% plastic but the steering on this is horrible! When you push the car the front wheels go right to left instead of front to back making it nearly impossible to push. My 15 month old son LOVES his car and climbs in and out of it all day long. I thought we were going to be able take him around the neighborhood this summer but, I can't even push him down my wooden floors. I just can't believe this car cost at least 3 times what we spent on the Scoot About which is a metal frame and the walker wagon made of good quality wood was 2/3 the cost. It just does not make sense. I only gave it 3 stars because it does look cute and my son loves it.

4.0 out of 5 stars My son LOVES it, needs a seat belt., April 11, 2009

We got this for our son when he was almost 1 yr old and he is absolutely cuckoo for it. He has been passionate for cars since being introduced to them and and the Sport Coupe is his favorite car activity. He loves to ride in it or push it with the handle down. We got the Coupe before he could walk independently and used the Coupe as a walk-behind toy (walker) to help him get the jist of walking and it worked well for this purpose, so we never bought an actual walker (less clutter/cost for us!) The Coupe is very cute and seems well-constructed for the most part though a few things prevent me from giving it 5 stars:

- Most importantly, this toy needs a seat belt. Our son is a bit of a daredevil and will launch himself head-first from the seat when he sees something of interest. Using this toy outside on pavement can make this dangerous. Fortunately, it's very easy to fashion a seat belt of your own (which is what we did) but it ought to come standard, in my opinion.

[Homemade seatbelt: We got a webbed nylon strap with buckle from EMS (should be available at most sporting goods stores for hiking) and ran it through the crack between the back and bottom of the seat, securing it underneath with the conveniently placed screw holes.]

- The steering handle, despite being installed properly, is a bit loose for my liking. We'll see how long it lasts but I have some concern that it will eventually weaken and break.

- Our son is very tall for his age and he likes to stick his feet out and rub them against the front wheels. We're curbing this behavior but I wonder if the design couldn't include an inner "wheel well" in front to avoid this.

- The radio button on ours sticks a bit, just a nuisance but IMO unacceptable for this costly a toy. Speaking of the radio, I kind of wish it played more than a few seconds of song when it was pushed - maybe a minute?

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute car, but wouldn't recommend..., April 8, 2009

Very cute car and my son loves it, but wouldn't recommend for a few reasons:

1. The door opens and you can't lock it shut so when you're out "driving" around, your child leans on the door, it opens, he/she falls out. Great.
2. No seatbelt so eventually your child will figure out he/she can stand up in the car and will try to do so over and over and over...
3. Plastic wheels - your neighbors will love you if you take this on an early morning spin around the neighborhood - it is so loud. For the price, you'd think they'd be able to slap a little rubber on the tires to make for a smoother and quieter ride.
