4.0 out of 5 stars Useful but very fragile!
I bought three of these umbrellas. 2 for my youngest daughters wagon because you need 2 to cover the whole wagon. Plus one for my oldest daughters wheelchair. They really are wonderful to have if you remember not to just grab and bend them from anywhere. My husband has snapped all three of them in half because he forgets that he has to be gentle. I have recently...

3.0 out of 5 stars Better off with two!
I have one of these for my daughter's Discovery wagon that she just recieved for her birthday. I only got it because I thought it was my only option, and no other clamp-on umbrella would work. First of all, this umbrella is WAY TOO SMALL. The only part of your child this would shade is his/her head. And if you have more than one child, FORGET IT. I've only used it a few...

I've only used it a few times, and so far it hasn't broken, like some of the reviews I read. I plan to be very careful with it. My mother-in -law had a clamp-on patio chair umbrella that was MUCH BIGGER, and when I looked at it, I decided it wouldn't work, because the clamp goes sideways, but then I thought of clamping it on the drink-holder. IT WORKED! So now I use both umbrellas. The small one for my daughter's head (clamped on the end) and the big one for the rest of her. It may look silly to some people when they see us on the street, but I don't care. I have peace of mind, and that's what's important. So this is my suggestion. If you have one, and it still works, keep it, and get a patio chair one like I did. If it has a sideways screw-on clamp, buy it, it will work if you have the Discovery wagon.Thank goodness for the drink holder. And yes, you'll still have room for your drinks.

They really are wonderful to have if you remember not to just grab and bend them from anywhere. My husband has snapped all three of them in half because he forgets that he has to be gentle. I have recently ordered another one just because it's impossible to find a clip on umbrella for a wheelchair for when it's raining. BUT... I will not be buying more for the wagon. Too much money to spend for something that breaks so quickly to only be used for shading sun! (...)

5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't hold up...., April 1, 2002

I bought two of these umbrellas for the ATW wagon. They both broke at the plastic clip area after one time of using them. The clip is made of plastic and wasn't very durable for the wagon. It would make a better stroller umbrella.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother!, August 29, 2003

I had high hopes for this umbrella, but it utterly disappointed me. After using it approximately 3 times, the pole is about to break in half where the little button is that extends the umbrella part. The pole is just not strong enough and will surely end up breaking in half. The spring is not very malleable, either.

The clamp on this broke the FIRST time I attempted to put it on my Discovery
wagon. I assume the spring and clamp are not meant to open that wide.
It is a strong clamp & should be suited to a metal or wooden sided wagon.

I was thrilled to find a clip-on umbrella that BENT around to cover any angle, but the first time I tried to use it (in the blazing heat during a 4th of July parade) the plastic clip snapped. Very disappointing!

I loved this umbrella and felt it an important part of my daughter's (and my) enjoyment of her wagon - it shaded her from the sun, allowed her to play with her toys and look at books and gave me peace of mind knowing that she wasn't being burned to a crisp by the sun. There is a bendable portion to the post at the base, near the clip. I adjusted the angle of the umbrella quite often depending on the location of the sun. However, after only 2 months of use, the metal post on the unbrella became weakened and dented, and it finally snapped. I wish it was made to last longer. I am going to replace the broken, but will be more careful when bending it at the base and I recommend the same to anyone who buys it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Concept but Not Durable, June 22, 2004

The umbrella is a great idea and works well with the radio flyer wagon. The problem is ours broke after limited use. The umbrella did not bend easily in the coil area. We found that when people adjusted the umbrella they always bent it where the button is to put the umbrella up and down. In the end that is where the umbrella snapped in two. So just take your time when trying to bend the umbrella to block the sun!

it was a nice idea but it is not very durable. Mine didn't even make it through the summer. It does work good but it breaks very easy. The pole and springs are not strong enough and end up breaking in half.

We brought this umbrella down to Disney World. We attached it to the stroller to protect my son from the sun. It did a great job.
