Roger Waters got together with Jim Ladd and the other folk at KMET, that had just been closed/ bought out, and recorded this wonderful piece about this hypothetical radio station.
"Radio KAOS" is all about the culture, and the times we live in. Biting social commentary, of course. Brilliant all 'around, and all these years later, a very pleasant experience to listen to.

Empowering in a Melencholy Weigh,

Little Billy in his wheelchair cannot turn off any of the frequencies but manages to tune in on what's most important - in this case a communique concerning a button. What button? The big red one.
Only occasionally descending into Waters' trademark abyss, this is lighter fare than 'the wall' and Billy can even be empowering to the listener at times. Especially dig 'the powers that be,' 'the tide is turning,' and the title cut. |
