What a great read. Ron Della Chiesa seems to have always been in the right place at the right time. He has so many great personal stories about the legends who shaped Opera, Jazz, and the American Songbook.

An Honest and Engaging Apotheosis of a Living Legend of Radio,
This review is from: Radio My Way: Featuring Celebrity Profiles from Jazz, Opera, the American Songbook and More (Paperback)
As a longtime listener to the mellifluous and warmhearted voice that is Ron DC, I am enjoying this slender tome immensely. The narrative is jocular and inviting and Ron DC is not afraid to show a warts-and-all image of his early days in radio like when he left the booth to have a sandwich in the cafe downstairs and the record--Beethoven's Fifth Symphony--skipped for 25 minutes straight on the famous opening bars or when he advised listeners not to forget to "set your cocks back" that night. The book also provides a juicy and fascinating snapshot at such beloved classical curmudgeons as Robert J Lurtsema ("Don't you ever call me Bob!") and the early classical days of the late and much missed Boston rock station WBCN-FM and its kooky and eccentric founder. This book is required reading for radio aficionados in the Boston area. And kudos to writer Erica Ferencik for capturing the essential Ron DC.
