Back to the golden age of radio, February 27, 2000
This review is from: Radioland Murders: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I saw the movie Radioland Murders a couple of years ago and liked it a lot. I grabbed this soundtrack from Amazon just because it was so cheap and didn't really expect anything special from it, but I was very positively surprised when I received the CD. It features some great music from the 1940's, including big band (Glenn Miller's In the Mood) and authentic-sounding commercial jingles, which have actually been composed and written by Joel McNeely, the composer of the film score. There are some good instrumental tracks by McNeely featured too, but the emphasis of the album is on the songs and jingles heard in the movie. A film music buff may be disappointed, but I liked this soundtrack a lot and find myself listening to it weekly. Great nostalgic journey back to the fourties!
