Radiosoul is a tribute to all of the great rock music of days gone by,

This review is from: Radiosoul (Audio CD)
The GoodFuzzy rock riffs dominate "Now I'm Gone," and help give it that seventies pop-rock feel. "Better, Finer" kicks things up a notch with heavy power chords and cocksure vocals that take Radiosoul into arena rock mode. Vocalist/guitarist Patrick Zelenka has a voice similar to Mick Jagger's, but a rougher in some spots. The main guitar riff on "Clearer Through the Mirror" is sure to resonate in your brain for days. Radiosoul show their versatility with "Chelsea's Blues." This track is really a showcase for Zelenka to show off his blues guitar skills, but after listening you'll realize that he has a right to brag. "Song with no Name" gallops along with the help of drummer Steve Chapko. The vocal melodies really shine on the chorus. "Bolder, Wiser, Free" takes the distortion down a bit, but keeps just enough to enhance the catchy southern rock inspired riffage. The Bad Nothing The Verdict I won't usually review CDs that are more than a year old, but when this CD arrived, I thought I should at least give it a listen. I popped it in the CD player while I was doing something else, not really thinking about it. After a few songs though, I started paying closer attention. I couldn't believe how good it was. Radiosoul really appealed to my affection for the styles of music I grew up listening to and still enjoy today; seventies rock, arena rock, and blues rock. I've listen to this CD many times over, and it will surely find a place in my rotation. Radiosoul is a tribute to all of the great rock music of days gone by.
