5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound, Great Comfort, Great Style
I was looking for a good pair of headphones on Amazon, and I spotted the Atomic Base headphone. I love heavy base so I decided to give these a try. They have several color options, all of which match iPod colors. I bought the black pair to match my iPod, and it is an exact match. 1.0 out of 5 stars These ear buds are worthless
I am currently in Afghanistan and I needed a cheap pair of ear buds that would hold up for a few months. I don't want to buy a pair that is over 80 dollars so I thought I would go with these. The sound quality was ok but the durability was horrible. After only one week the right bud started to go out. And just a few days after that it went out completely and the left...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound, Great Comfort, Great Style, June 13, 2008
This review is from: Radius Atomic Bass Aluminum Earbuds - Black (Electronics)
I was looking for a good pair of headphones on Amazon, and I spotted the Atomic Base headphone. I love heavy base so I decided to give these a try. They have several color options, all of which match iPod colors. I bought the black pair to match my iPod, and it is an exact match. I noticed when I received the product that it came with three different sizes of tips, so I found that to be extremely benefitial since I have relatively small ears, as it turns out. The perfect fit made them more comfortable, and they stay put, even when running. The sound is great as well. I was really impressed with the base response, and my rap, hip-hop and house music sound amazing on these. Overall, the Atomic Base headphones have great sound, great style and great comfort. I would recommend these to any base lover, like myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars They fit, September 25, 2008

If you have small ear canals and are tired of fighting with other earbud style headphones then these are the answer to your frustrations. For this fact alone I would recommend this product but they also sound very good. Bass response is,as the name implies, very good as are all other freq. No they're not a $100 pair of Bose or Sennheisers but for the price they perform well and "they fit".

5.0 out of 5 stars Atomic Bass Great Customer Service, July 2, 2009
This review is from: Radius Atomic Bass Aluminum Earbuds - Black (Electronics)
I purchased a set of the Atomic Bass with Microphone for my IPOD touch. As far as sound quality is concerned they are one of the best headsets that I have ever owned. I was experiencing some issues with the microphone compatatbility with the IPOD using skype so I wrote customer service and they told me they are built for the IPhone. I let them know that I wanted to exchange them for a set without the microphone and they offered to send me a set free of charge. In addition, I am stationed in Iraq and they sent me 9 free headphones for my co-workers and gave me a discount coupon to give out to the rest of my troops. If you are active military and would like to purchase a set through their website, email customer service and request the military coupon code. It is worth 35% off the purchase! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good with all the music I listen to, December 20, 2008

I listen mostly to classical music: symphonies, concertos, and other orchestral works, solo piano, chamber works, solo vocal and choral works, etc. I am really pleased with this product. Orchestral sections are clear and have the necessary heft where it counts. Low strings, which often sound like distant rumbles, actually sound musical; and timpani are indeed timpani! Especially pleasing is the solo piano, which is clean, firm, and well balanced throughout its whole range. Voices are convincingly presented, though as with almost any speakers, headphones and earphones, you have to turn up the volume a bit to hear the real vocal quality.

My litmus test is always the 40-part motet 'Spem in Alium' of Tallis (Tallis Scolars). This pair of earphones acquits itself very well too. The space surrounding the individual voices is nicely retained most of the time. It does get somewhat congested when all 40 voices are going in full force, but so do all my other (much much more expensive) earphones.

I am sure that on music that has been recorded with a bumped-up lower rage, this can make the bass sound overwhelming. But that's hardly the fault of the earphones. Aficionados of such music probably prefer it that way anyway. (How can anybody stay in a car which is vibrating from the pounding bass and drums?)

Without a question, this is now my favorite pair of earphones, and I am definitely not shedding any tears that they don't cost more. In fact, I am going to buy a couple more pairs of them to be sure I don't have to use others.

The sound quality was ok but the durability was horrible. After only one week the right bud started to go out. And just a few days after that it went out completely and the left bud started to go. I was greatly disappointed with these ear buds, they are cheaply made and just don't hold up. I would highly suggest bypassing this product and looking for a better pair of earbuds.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ear piece Falls off, March 24, 2010
This review is from: Radius Atomic Bass Aluminum Earbuds - Black (Electronics)
Don't buy them for anyone under 50.

I got them for a 20 year old and an 18 year old and all they do is frustrate the kids because the exchangeable silicone ear pieces fall off and get lost

Terrible design never again with the removable pieces.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great overall even with the weak treble, March 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Radius Atomic Bass Aluminum Earbuds - Black (Electronics)
When my Sennheiser PX 200's broke due to use while jogging I decided to get a pair of earbuds. I researched for hours and I came up with these, the Lenntek Sonix, and the Sennheiser CX300-B. I found that while the latter two had better overall sound quality the cords on the earbuds caused a sound of static when the wrong way by the wrong material. If it wasn't for that I would have purchased the the Sennheiser CX300-B. However I am quite pleased with my purchase of the Radius Atomic Bass.

Unboxing Experience
-The box is small and easy to open. Shouldn't take longer than two minutes to open the package and start enjoying bass heavy music with your new earbuds.

First time listening
-I plugged these bad boys right into my computer and started listening to some of my more bass heavy music and I was a bit surprised at the sound quality.

After a few days of using these earbuds I've founds that they are great for Hip-Hop, and Pop but Rock, Country, Classical, and Jazz is where they start to dissapoint. The treble is very weak but I took other reviewers advice and played around with the EQ on my iPod Touch. I set the EQ to Deep making the treble in most music very satisfying at reasonable volumes.

These earbuds are also very comfortable. ALERT** you don't have to jam them into you ears. If you do that they end up sounding muffled and low in volume. All you have to do is set them in your ears and push them in just a little bit. They don't fall out and they look very nice. I can't say much about their durability but the cord looks like its just the right size and it doesn't tangle very easily. Also you cant hear anything once you have music on so they really deliver good noise isolation.

In short, if you want a cheap pair of noise isolating earbuds for your general listening and exercise these are the earbuds for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good sound, POOR Quality, February 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Radius Atomic Bass Aluminum Earbuds - Black (Electronics)
I purchased based on reading reviews describing the good bass response. I LOVE the sound but after 6 weeks the wire going into the 1/8 inch plug began to quit. Turn, wiggle and eventually it would work for a while. So, I am 7 weeks later looking for another set. My return date has now expired....

These sound great: highs, mids and good bass.

They are very comfortable.

Good sound isolation.

But the quality of the cable/plug is terrible.

If the company would fix this fatal flaw.... I would purchase again even at a nominal price increase.

Too bad, nice product, POOR qality !!!!

Do not buy these!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars average sound but 5 stars for design, April 23, 2009
This review is from: Radius Atomic Bass Aluminum Earbuds - Black (Electronics)
My main reason for choosing these besides decent reviews was the design. I listen to mostly classic rock, which involves a lot of guitar and vocals...not quite so much emphasis on bass. My first impression of them right out the box was that they lived up to their name: atomic bass but nothing else. Voices were muffled and those screeching guitar solos were barely noticable. Playing with the equalizer did not help. However, after a 24 hour burn in period these things are great. Good balance between bass and treble. I'm not used to being able to hear the bass on headphones so it provides a great new experience for the music. However, these are only the quality that you pay for. I've listened to headphones that make you feel like you're in the recording studio. These are not even close. But these provide great sound at a decent price while remaining snug and comfortable in my ears.

Pros: Y- shaped design (I hate the one's with one side longer than the other), lightweight, perfect fit in ears (I use the smallest plugs), multiple ways to position in ears thanks to smart design, straight plug, able to use while running, long cord, great bass

Cons: mediocre highs, voices and guitars are not as powerfully pitched that make you want to melt in rock n' roll bliss

Overall: great beat up pair. One thing I liked was that they enable you to hear prominent sounds while in your ears (like voices or cars). An old sony pair I had made me completely deaf to anything around me, which is very hazardous to safety and annoying to people trying to talk to you. Only had them a week, but I am pleased.

side note: don't really listen to rap or pop, but I'd bet they'd sound killer.
