Product Description

Discover garden tools unlike any you've ever held before. The Radius Garden Natural Radius Grip PRO garden tools were designed using the most current research into human factors and tool usage. Traditional garden tools force you to use your hands and wrists in a way that can cause injuries. These tools maximize your power and comfort while minimizing wrist and hand stress. The large "O-handle" grips on Radius tools allow you to hold the tool securely without exerting extra pressure and wasting your energy. The PRO series tools feature four times the gripping surface of conventional tools, with room for both hands! The blade of this tool is made of carbon steel. The advanced ergonomic design makes gardening easier and more enjoyable. Built as professional quality tools, Radius Garden NRG PRO tools come with a lifetime guarantee. The PRO Bulb Auger will pop out a round of earth where you want the new bulbs or other perennial transplants to go. Great for also separating or dividing certain perennials and is better for your transplants than hacking through with a root knife. Radius PRO tools feature a large "O" handle and extra-wide raised forward kick for reduced strain, better balance, and ease-of-use. These tools also include a resin-encased steel core shaft, making them virtually unbreakable.

When I first came across these, I thought they looked neat, and maybe they might not function so bad. The look had additional marketing appeal for my landscaping company, something to set us aside from others.

However, I wasn't really sure they'd suit a functional purpose, so I tentatively ordered the shovel to give it a trial run and to see if I could live with it.

I've since gone out and stocked up on all the NRG-PRO tools, their hand tools, and I'm looking forward to at least some of the NRG-STX series tools as well.

All of the tools have a great balance. They are easier to control and carry materials across distances ~ a simple open hand across the circular handle keeps them from spinning and dropping whatever they're carrying. I've also found the handle design helps keep them from rolling or causing too much trouble when toting them around across the arms of a wheelbarrow.

The nice green does seem to get dulled quickly from the mud and, even when washed clean, still loses that new-tool shine. The business end has no such problems and remains easy to clean even when it has a right not to.

I'm tall ~ over 6' ~ and I never thought I'd like the short handles on these, however, I've found they're more comfortable even digging down below grade. This is a bit of personal taste, as my son, slightly shorter than I, prefers long handled tools.

I have several small handheld bulb planters, and they all work fairly well. For bulb planters, this is the long handled tool! I haven't planted any bulbs with this (yet), but what it does even better than its smaller relations is allow me to get the leverage to easily cut into hosta root masses.

I got this thinking how great it would be for the many bulbs I decide to plant each fall. How fun and easy! Yes, maybe if you are a 180 pound man. Even with that in mind, your soil still has to be really 'nice' soil for this tool to get down into it the full length. This was for naturalizing, not soft garden soil. I weigh 100 lbs. This did not work for me at all. I used it to help get holes started, but that's it. Also, the edge should have been much more thin, like a good shovel, its edge is too thick to go in easily. Not worth the money.

I had several back surgeries and always look for tools that let me continue with all my old hobbies. This bulb planter makes it much easier for me to plant bulbs in my garden.

I discovered a couple of tricks that made this planter work very well.

★ I watered the ground before working with a tool, this helps the soil stay in the cup better when I pull out the bulb planter. I was able to put the plater on ground while planting the bulb, then lift it back up and re-deposit the soil without dropping any on the ground

★ I found it was much easier to get the planter inserted by twisting the handle rather than pushing on the planter with my foot. Doh! That's why it is called an auger! I used my foot only for the initial 1/2 inch and then just twisted. My garden has a lot of small rocks the auger handled them beautifully. I took a photo of the auger after the work was done and you can see how it has become polished from being rotated against the rocks, yet it remained undamaged.

★ When I pulled out the auger the dirt stayed in the cup of the auger. Once I planted the bulb I use a trowel to losen the dirt in the cup so it just fell back on top of the bulb. Without the trowel it took a lot of shaking to get the dirt out of the cup, with a trowel it went very quickly.

Radius Garden Auger is made out is a heavy duty tool. It has carbon steel blade, the metal is fairly thick, and the tool is relatively heavy (4.5 pounds). Clay and rocks were not a problem, and after the planting I found no dents or bending. This thing will last! The planter is 41.5 inches tall, and I found it to be a very comfortable height for me to work with. The round handle made it easy to twist - no sharp edges to hurt my hand.
