Although this would be a wonderful read for the married I would also recommend it to single people as well - especially those who desire to be married some day.

This book is a great read: captivating story, advice in forgiving, words of God and faith, and personal growth. This story is compelling and keeps you turning the page, and allows you to relate to the characters. I enjoy books which I can see myself as one of the characters, and this story is very easily true to life. It makes you think, and I personally gained much from reading it. I really enjoyed the "food for thought" at the end, and all of the quotes from the Bible. This book is filled with advice and examples of how to forgive, and most importantly why. Even if you do not find yourself needing to forgive at the moment, this book puts life in perspective, and opens your eyes to how you may have dealt with past issues better, and how you can deal with future issues that come your way. Everyone has a time in their life when they need to forgive, and when they need to be reminded of how good God and the Bible can feel and lift your spirits. This book really did open my heart, and my eyes, and will be good for anyone to enjoy.

This is an awesome read. Every time I put the book down, I couldn't wait to pick it up again. This should be made into a movie or play. Everyone that reads this book will have something to walk away with and to ponder on. God bless the author for putting out such great work!

This book helped me tremendously I could not wait to read it Each day, I can relate to some of the things Rae did; this book will show you how God will move if you just submit your life to him and have faith and believe in him, our life is not our own we belong to God, we have to forgive in order for us to be forgiven...ladies we have to submit ourselves to our husband ....this book will help you with unforgiveness and so much more and through out the book there are scriptures from the bible that support each chapter ...stories that were used from the bible are great. I can read this book over and over again..God will use a tragedy for your testimony and his glory

Blessings

Rae's Revenge & Redemption: Commanded to Forgive by LaVerne Iverson is a powerful, captivating story of love, forgiveness and salvation. Matt and Rae's marriage is in serious trouble and this book brings to light the damage caused by invisible barriers of betrayal, hate, anger and unforgiveness.

Rae discovers that she has been betrayed and the immediate effect of this betrayal of trust takes its toll in the emotional impact it has on her. Her trust for Matt is crushed. She is angry and Matt's lack of integrity is repulsive to her. She is in distress, goes into hyper-vigilance and finds `proof' - a receipt for diamond earrings she never received! Armed with these, she does a regrettable thing.

With a scripture for each chapter, Iverson places a mirror before her readers causing them to see their reflection in God's Word. Those who are wronged find truth in forgiveness and those who have wronged shed off their cloak of guilt - both finding peace in God through Christ.

In a day when marriage is taken lightly, making it the only legal contract a person can break without the other party's consent and without facing any legal repercussions, Iverson shows her readers just the opposite - a sacred covenant which both parties should participate in faithfully.

I loved this book because it is not just for entertainment. It illustrates the current state of many marriages today. The reality of the matter is that too many spouses are wounded but the truth that Iverson delivers is this: God has given each and every one the ability to forgive. Though difficult, it is the better choice than to stew in unforgiveness - a cancer that destroys. Where there is forgiveness, there is restoration and where there is restoration there is hope.

It's what headlines are made of: The strange and horrible things that happen to or are done by everybody else.

I think on some level, most people truly believe they aren't headline material. Sure, we know we aren't perfect, but there's no way we could ever shoot someone, commit multiple affairs or knowingly expose others to horrible diseases.

In Rae's Revenge and Redemption: Commanded to Forgive, Laverne Iverson does what few authors can manage. She creates very empathetic characters; characters whose shoes actually fit every reader.

The story follows a young, generic couple. Rachel and Matt Ford could be the neighbors across the street: From good homes, both work, both seem happy, no children yet. But, as they focus on their individual careers their intimacy fades. Each blames the other and justifies their own behavior.

Suddenly, they are the substance of breaking news.

The very first chapter finds Rae waking up in a jail cell. A quick flash back reveals that she has just uncovered her husband's infidelity and confronted his mistress in anger. As she emerges from her slumber, she learns that the mistress has been shot, is undergoing surgery and Rae is the key suspect.

As I read Rae's Revenge and Redemption, I truly felt bewildered. I asked with Rae, How did this happen to me? How did we find ourselves in this mess? When Matt begged for forgiveness and genuinely sought reconciliation, I identified with Rae's volatile emotions. One moment I wanted to accept Matt's apology; the next, I found myself with Rae, recoiling from his touch.

The story is compelling and moves at a decent pace, keeping the reader engaged and inquisitive. However, the plot seems somewhat unoriginal.
