WONDERFUL!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Raffi In Concert (Audio CD)
Our family loves Raffi, and we want to share him with you. His songs are really silly, great to sing along with, and never seem to get old - even for us adults. We have all his tapes in our car, and the children ask for him every time we are out. His songs are just right for little people; nothing else can compare. Our kids love his music so much! I am so grateful we discovered his music. We own many Raffi CD's and love them all, but this "best of Raffi" is one of our all-time favorites, along with Singable Songs for the Very Young (with a Peanut Butter Sandwich) and Raffi in Concert (a must-have video). There are a dozen of other great CD's from Raffi to choose from, too, and any of them will do nicely with a peanut butter sandwich

Won't drive you to the brink of psychosis,
By A Customer
This review is from: Raffi In Concert (Audio CD)
Unlike most other children's music, Raffi is actually fairly tolerable for adults who have to hear each album over 40,000 times. It will not drive you to a psychotic state as will other kiddie favorites like a large purple thing which will remain nameless. Raffi's singing and playing are quite good--from an adult standpoint, he's a pleasant folksinger who sings children's material. He has a charm about him which really appeals to the children, which is lacking in something like the Jerry Garcia/David Grisman album for children. Raffi's sort of charm is not corny or overbearing, so adults will not want to run into the street screaming. All in all, he's the ideal artist if you have children under five and hope to keep a shred of your sanity, music--wise. For that I say, Thank God for Raffi!

I love raffi. I used to listen to him when i was little and i still love his music. I hope that when i have children i will still be able to find raffi cd's. I couldn't imagine a world without him. He teaches kids good morals and his songs are fun to sing along with.

We Love Him,

Out of the blue, our 2 year old started "singing" Baby Beluga. I don't know where she heard it, probably the playground insiders only section. I was aware of the song and a little about Raffi, but I was really surprised by our reaction to this album. The songs are all great, the band is very tight and we've listened to it about 5000 times so far. It also happens to be a great live performance. I walk around wistling Raffi songs at the office until someone tells me to stop. And Raffi has a quality in his voice that talks to children and not down to them. He is not silly and goofy and there is a warm and reassuring sound in his voice. Also, from what I know about Raffi, he walks the walk, promoting peace and childrens rights throughout the world.

Raffi Rocks!!!!!!,

I am 20 years old & I still love Raffi! Lots of wonderful songs on this CD. Recorded live in concert in July 1988, Raffi & his band play favourites such as: Everything Grows, Baby Beluga & Rise & Shine. I dedicate this CD to the memory of Deanne Kronke. She was a huge Raffi fan who passed away this year. God bless you D.

Raffi is a one-man show, gently strumming his guitar and singing heartfelt lyrics that will have you and your wee ones singing along happily. Very peaceful and lots of fun at the same time.

What a Joyful Noise!,
By A Customer

Gramma, Grampa, three grandsons (ages 2,4 and 6) on a 1,000 mile trip. This music saved our sanity, and more. We sang together until we couldn't sing any more. The music is instructive, uplifting and just makes you want to sing and dance, whether two or sixty-two.

Both our 2 & 5 year olds LOVE this cd!! The little one's favorite he calls "ducks" - and asks to play it first thing almost every morning! Very dancable and the lyrics stick with the kids - they sing Raffi songs all day long. Highly recommended - parents enjoy Raffi too!! The live recording can't be beat!

Kids love Raffi,
By A Customer

OK, so now that we've got Raffi for our rhythmic 8-month-old we find ourselves singing his soothing songs to her in the grocery store, when she's tired of riding in her carseat and sometimes when she's not even around. The tunes are catchy. The CD is upbeat. Raffi is a real hit and he's not purple!

I have yet to find a Raffi that I didn't like, but this Raffi album is easily our favorite. The songs are fun to listen to for kids, and just as great for adults. In fact, my husband recently commented how listening to this CD was almost as enjoyable as listening to live Buffet. It definitely has a breezy tropical flair and the songs make you tap your hands and feet. This is one of the CDs we play most often on Sunday mornings while my husband and I drink coffee and read the paper while our two year old drinks his milk and "reads" the funnies.
