This review is from: The Raga Cycle, Palace Theatre, Paris 1972: Ragas Shudh Sarang and Kut Todi (Audio CD)
I don't know why there are no reviews of this album here. This is HIGH quality stuff. Once you've heard and felt something like this you've pretty much reached the top of the mountain and known the fresh air of it. I know what I feel - Pandit Pran Nath was a special musician. This is not ordinary stuff. This is the highest realization of this music form. It's self-evident. Whatever performances of Pran Nath's that were recorded should be released as soon as possible. MIDNIGHT - an album featuring two different performances of Raga Malkauns - is another unknown GEM that shows what this musician had within him. Pran Nath will offer you your humanity. Here is a window through which to see the dignified heights we have within. |
