Attention Grabbing!,
This review is from: Rage Factor (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked this book up after reading a referral here on amazon.com. Let me just say that if you want an EXCELLENT read that will be running through your mind long after you are finished reading, then this book is IT! It holds your attention through the entire book, and is truly one that kept me on the edge of my seat. I will be reading others by this author for sure!

Vigilante Justice (ouch),
This review is from: Rage Factor (Mass Market Paperback)
the back of the book boasts "chilling and suspenseful". i did not see any of those things. I did read a well-written book, where our heroine deserved a little more character development. the book is fast-paced and action packed. There are surprising twists and turns. It is good in the respect that it shows women to be strong and capable, not good in that they are banded together and come off psychotic (okay so they maim and torture a few people). i recommend this book, because Chris Rogers is a promising writer!

Dixie Flannigan thinks she has it all, job she loves to do, great family and a man she thinks she can have a long relationship with; that is until Lawrence Coombs enters her life and turns it upside down. He beats her up when she tries to bring him in when he didn't show up for court, he then beats the crime he was charged with which enrages the vitims. A group of 'aveneging angels' take over where the courts fail and give him a piece of his own medicine. But they don't stop with Coombs and they move on to others who were let off making Dixie wonder if the ADA and her friend Brenda is involved with the street justice being dished out. In the meantime she is babysitting the daughter of an actress who has been getting threatening letters in the mail. As she has her hands full with work the man in her life Parker Dann, wants her to find a job with less risk and will have her home at a regular time. I do agree it was a bit predicable, but it was hard to put down some nights and go to sleep. I'm looking forward to read the next book in the series and hopefully there will be more to come.

Chris Rogers' wrting style is fresh and interesting. I enjoyed her first book, but liked this one so much more. I couldn't put it down. Liked her use of many new characters. Her development of Dixie's relationship with her "boyfriend" - I don't want to give anything away - was very good. Can't wait to see where she takes the two of them in her next book. Overall, very entertaining and a good read.

Another winner by Rogers,

Professional bounty hunter Dixie Flanagan usually does not care whether her "skip" did the crime or not, but her latest returnee, Lawrence Coombs is so creepily evil she wants him executed. To her dismay and that of several of Coombs' victims, Lawrence's trial ends with a not guilty verdict. While Dixie works as a bodyguard for a teenager, an assailant abducts Coombs, giving the sadist as brutal of a beating as he gave to his victims. Though Dixie firmly feels that Coombs got what he deserved, she condemns the action. Soon other individuals accused of abuse but freed begin to vanish. Dixie believes that no one, regardless of their motives, is above the law. She thinks she knows who is behind the attacks and places herself in danger to put a halt to them. Chris Rogers avoids the sophomore slump as RAGE FACTOR, her second Flanagan novel (see BITCH FACTOR), is a brilliant, complex who-done-it. The masterful story line includes several sub-plots that cleverly blend into one fabulous tale. The witty Dixie remains an interesting character, who will garner much reader attention as they will desire the Rogers Factor in more novels soon. Harriet Klausner

I really enjoyed this book. The story is unique, and the plot manages to move along smoothly while building up on the mystery and suspense. There are some really great twists and turns that surprised me! I love Dixie's character, and there are some fun supporting characters (including her family members). This is the second book in the series (after Bitch Factor) and I really look forward to the third.

I read Rage Factor and the second book and enjoyed both immensely. Good fun reading. I'm looking forward to reading Chill Factor. However I was appalled that Chris Rogers' publisher passed on printing her latest Dixie Flannigan novel, _Slice of Life_. Ms. Rogers self published online. Haven't read it yet. Hope it won't dissappoint.

Good, but dump the man, Dixie!,

I enjoyed this well written book, but I hope that the character of Dixie's boyfriend is not allowed to turn Dixie into a driveling wimp. Many a good independant heroine has been ruined by a "concerned" man.

I thought the best part of this book was the characters. Someone wanting a 'hard to figure out thriller' will be disappointed. I gave it four stars not for the plot but, strictly because of the characters.

Dixie has what every woman wants, wit, looks, and the ability to fight her way out of any situation she can't outsmart. Each scene keeps you reading. Never a dull moment in this action packed, kick-butt, thriller. I highly recomend this book to anyone tired of predictable plots. Inovative and smart writing. Dixie represents women today, or what they dream of being!
