5.0 out of 5 stars Rage and Fury-A masterpiece
Steel Pulse's Rage and Fury is quite simply a masterpiece: tight driving arrangements, great lyrics, great vocals, excellent harmonically, melodically, and rhythmically. All tunes are great but the ones that got to me first were Ku Klux Klan, The Real Terrorist, and Black Enough for Ya.

3.0 out of 5 stars ..too little too late...
For those of you who have a warm ear to contemporary reggae and its keyboard influences this may be a solid purchase, but roots reggae buyers beware. This album is a comeback for the band in terms of lyrics and intent, but with three of six original members now gone, lead singer David Hinds can't hold it alone. The drum n' bass version of Klu Klux Klan is very cool,...

This album is a comeback for the band in terms of lyrics and intent, but with three of six original members now gone, lead singer David Hinds can't hold it alone. The drum n' bass version of Klu Klux Klan is very cool, perhaps having their work remixed would be a good idea...Irie I.

Every song on this album completely rocks. A masterpiece of modern reggae with catchy melodies, horn lines, and a rockin' rhythm section. A must for Steel Pulse fans!

4.0 out of 5 stars A comeback album, November 1, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Rage & Fury (Audio CD)
This is truly a comeback release for the group that was expected to carry the mantle after Bob Marley. They acknowledge in their prevoius releases that the drive towards commercialisation made them slip away from their leadership role in reggae but this album brings them back on tracks, the militant reggae style that prompted Bob Marley's "endorsement".

This is truely a comeback release for the group that was expected to carry the mantle after Bob Marley. They acknowledge in their prevoius releases that the drive towards commercialisation made them slip away from their leadership role in reggae but this album brings them back on tracks, the militant reggae style that prompted Bob Marley's "endorsement".

I first heard this CD in 1998 when I met my husband. Since then, I've bought 3 cd's - all Rage & Fury. One for each car, and one for inside our home. This CD is an absolute must have for any reggae lover. Steel Pulse has amazing vocals and it really relaxes you. It's great to listen to on a nice warm day!

1.0 out of 5 stars If this were any more corny or flaky, I'd pour milk on it., June 12, 2000

Obviously, Steel Pulse has long passed its peak. If you like amateurish pop reggae with cliched lyrics like "I spy with my little eye" and "Say it loud, I'm black and proud," along with cheesy dance beats, then you may enjoy this tripe.
