Don't know how you got here? Tin Hat? Sleepytime? Frith? Well, the important thing is that you're reading this and seem mildly interested in purchasing this music. Do yourself and buy it. I can't guarantee that you'll make many friends if you put it on at a social gathering, but I will guarantee that at least one person will take notice and want a copy. If you're not sure, there is (June 21, 2010) a four-part video of them performing on YouTube. After viewing it myself, there was little hesitation to donate. Very original and very enjoyable to listen to - if you have the attention span.

Fred Frith keeps demonstrating he is one of the cleverest composers of contemporary music. In this his latest offering he 'returns' to his rock roots but don't expect too much rock, really. He mixes rock group instrumentation and some of it's aesthetics with other styles (mainly folk from around the world) and just plain 'Frith' style of composing as found in albums such as 'Prints'. Good singing on 3 or 4 tunes but it is mainly an instrumental album. Good playing by all in the band (specially the violin player). Recommended if you liked the more song oriented albums by Frith (Prints, Cheap at half price, etc.).
