This is to let potential buyers know of the contents of this book, since at the time of this review there was no mention of which stories were included, or even how many.

The first page of the book includes a table of contents. There are ten short stories within:

01. How Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy Came to Marcella's House

02. The Nursery Dance

03. Raggedy Ann Learns a Lesson

04. Raggedy Ann and the Painter (the story where Ann gets her candy heart)

05. Doctor Raggedy Andy

06. Raggedy Ann's Trip on the River

07. The Taffy Pull

08. Raggedy Ann and the Strange Dolls

09. Raggedy Ann's New Sisters

10. The Singing Shell

Each story begins with a full two-page spread containing a full page color illustration on the left; and on the right, the title of the story with a smaller illustration beneath it.

Each story is about 4-7 pages long, with illustrations approximately every other page. I counted only four places in the book where there was not a picture on either the left or the right side, just text.

All in all, I am quite satisfied I made the perfect purchase to introduce my daughter to the stories behind the Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls she just received for Christmas.

A wonderful companion to the Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls. Having the dolls to hold while hearing the stories inspires my children's playtime. The stories are as sweet as Raggedy Ann's candy heart, and as timeless.

I have been collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy for the last 18 years and I have quite a collection of dolls. Last Christmas, my parents bought me a vintage christmas book of theirs and I absolutely fell in love with it. Hence, the reason I am buying this book. It is beautiful illustrated and emphasizes why i feel in love with them in the first place.

This book is a wonderful collection of stories that explain the origin of and all about Raggedy Ann & Andy. They are short enough to hold the attention of a 5 year old, in my experience. In fact we read at least 3 of them, one after another, at one sitting. She has always been fascinated by these dolls and this set of stories answers many questions, such as the reason for the heart on each doll's chest.

Ordered this book after giving my grandaughter my two well-kept, handmade Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She loved the dolls, but didn't know their story and quite frankly, neither did I. So I set out to purchase a book that best suited her and found this one. She loved it along with her two brothers. It's a treasure and a keepsake.

I like to read with my children (three girls ages 8, 11, and 14). They all enjoyed reading this book with me. It is a classic.

I purchased a 30" Raggedy Ann and this book for my 3-yr old granddaughter. She'll enjoy having Raggedy Ann right there as she hears stories about her.

This is a very nice book....especially to go with the Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls, I bought my grandaughter.

I haven't read the book yet because it is for a birthday gift for a two year old, but it has wonderful illustrations and it appears to be perfectly suited as a way to introduce Catie to the Raggedys. It is to accompany a doll I made for her, and I am excited for this to occur.

Will be giving this to a great niece as a Christmas gift.
