I didn't need to see this dvd to know that I would love it. I had the great pleasure of seeing Doug Kershaw perform live many years ago at the Monterey fairgrounds and it was a performance I never forgot.
Doug Kershaw always delivers on great music and great fun with lots of humour thrown in. He enjoys his music and his fans enjoy it right along with him.
You don't have to give up rock or any other type of music you happen to be into in order to enjoy the Ragin' Cajun. Listening to Doug Kershaw will only broaden your musical enjoyment for he is a master musician and performer.
If you want something that will lift your spirits, get your feet moving and provide an hours worth of pure enjoyment then this dvd is for you. It's well worth it.

Doug Kershaw is a musician that personifies the term, 'Cajun.'
Being from the great state of Louisiana...we have a lot to be proud of in this fantastic musician!
Being a long time fan...it wasn't difficult for me to enjoy this DVD!
However, those of you who are unaware of his talents need to see this DVD!
The man is a singer and musician in every sense of the word!
On this DVD, he plays fiddle, acoustic guitar and accordian...however he can play NUMEROUS musical instruments!
The DVD has a running time of 58 mins. and 10 songs!
Both Doug and his band are all very talented and this DVD definetely
has rewatchability.
I thoroughly enjoyed how every song gave the opportunity to the other musicians to truly display their playing abilities.
In fact, I have viewed it three (3) times since I purchased it!
Only formatted in stereo sound...however, it still sounds great!
Highly Recommended!
So, do yourself a favor and purchase it...and have a
Louisiana Saturday Night of your own!

Thoroughly enjoyed this dvd and it has become a favorite of friends visiting my little music theatre.Cajun stripper is a great little number and the entire performance is solid.Still amazed at Doug's energy level for his age.I have just ordered my third copy of this dvd because my 2 others have been borrowed by friends and never returned.
I just wish we could get more performances on dvd from this fun cajun.

Doug sounds wonderful, but the quality of the video is not all that terrific... too much "panning" and the venue is really not that well suited for his talents. He likes to move all around and the stage looked a bit small. The music is wonderful though!

This is the worst DVD I have ever seen. The video is supposed to be a live show, but the musicians are obviously NOT PLAYING THE MUSIC. I am amazed that ANYONE would think that nobody would notice!! It was absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT BUY THIS DVD!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS DVD!!!!! I used to be a Doug Kershaw fan, but now I'm having to reconsider. THIS IS AN ABOMINATION!!!!! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING THIS DVD!!!!!

I really enjoyed this dvd. A fine example of his talents and unending energy.

A very good DVD. Maybe not the videography of a James Taylor or Celine Dion, but there isn't as much money here.

In answer to some of the the negative comments, I've been in the music field for many years, and no, there are no violinists behind the curtain like the Wizard of Oz. And yes, the musicians are playing, they're not all overdubbed. What would be the point of that, and how could you fool the audience?

Doug's son is a remarkably good drummer and works perfectly with his dad. The others do a very good job too. Doug is having a great time. If you like Cajun music, you're not going to find anything better.

As a Doug Kershaw fan for years I wanted this DVD. I was wondering if his shows had any of the energy he had in his live shows of years past.

As the DVD started, I thought Hey!! This is Great! but before the first song ended I was saying, Who Is Playing The Other Fiddle???? He even stops playing and there is still one playing. I did not notice this as bad on the other songs. But would like to know the answer for this.

Otherwise just sit back and enjoy the Rajun Cajun, as he plays some great songs with some of his old energy still kickin.

Music and video are great. If you like this kind of music then you will love this one.
