Worth Discovering - Enormous Value,
By
This review is from: Ragtime Rediscoveries (Paperback)
One of the three original Dover editions of ragtime, there are many pieces in here that should be heard more often, and many that have been recorded in the quarter century since this collection was first published. The only real drawback to this and the other Dover ragtime editions is that the covers, which are thankfully included, are printed in monochrome. But when you consider the thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours it would require to hunt down a collection of this magnitude (I know only TOO well as a collector myself), it's a stellar value... There are some James Scott rags here not included in Classic Piano Rags, as well as classics like the Cannon Ball and Who Let the Cows Out. Not all are easy to play, nor will they all appeal to some audiences, but they are representative of a large part of American musical heritage, and fun to pick through on a rainy Saturday. So whatcha waitin' for? They'll mail it right to your door this week! Just get it(Note that all the contents of all Dover ragtime books are listed on my web site on the folios page, which links right back to this page)

I have great fun with this collection of Ragtimes. My favorite is: Snowball Babe by C. Roland Flick. But there is more to discover. There are 64 ragtimes in this collection with some rare pieces. Enjoy.

Why is there not al list of the works collected in this book, on your webpage. That makes it quite impossible to look for a certain piece. And it doesn't make me want to buy any of these scorebooks, since I don't know what is in them.
