I bought this elsewhere but thought I would share the results.

They do not die on contact, and they are not discouraged by a surface that is absolutely sopping wet with this spray.

To reach the target and not stand too close or directly under the nest, I needed at least 18 feet of sprayosity!

I am writing this review after using this Raid Wasp and Hornet Killer 30 minutes ago. It worked awesome! Hornets had built a nest about 14 feet above the driveway over the garage door. So I waited until nearly dark and sprayed the nest. Every concern I had was put to rest. a) Raid says up to 22 ft.. To reach the target and not stand too close or directly under the nest, I needed at least 18 feet of sprayosity! Believe me when I tell you, it reached 22 ft. easily! And it launched out of the can as if attached to an electric power sprayer! b) Another concern was the control of the spray. It was perfect. When the nest was reached on a very direct path, the spray eventually fanned out to about the width of a basketball. Just right! Remember, that was at the culmination of about 18 feet of liquid flight. c) What about the insecticide dripping from the can onto my wrist, forearm, etc. while spraying? I didn't detect any of that! I wore a rubber glove just in case, and it seemed bone dry after the spraying. Amazing. Obviously it'll be a day or so before I can verify that the hornets are gone. But I trust that they are. I'll be sure to update this review if I'm incorrect. In the meantime, I give this Raid Wasp and Hornet spray my highest recommendation. When engaging in the somewhat perilous duty of wasp and hornet removal, it's important to have a reliable and predictable spray. This Raid really delivered for me. Impressive! (P.S. An update, after spraying the nest: Done deal. Hornets gone.)

The wasps in our area seem to always build their nests under our eaves where it's almost impossible to reach them. Standing on a tall step ladder and trying to knock down the nest is a potential recipe for disaster. Not just from the pain of being swarmed and stung, but from the possible fall to the ground while flailing away at them. If you've ever been stung by a Florida Mud Dauber you won't want to repeat it any time soon.

This product was designed specifically for hard-to-reach situations. Wasps/bees typically stop their frantic activities around sundown. That's the best time to find a strategic angle, point the spray can down wind, and give the nest a quick blast. You certainly don't want to cover yourself with the spray.

The first shot will kill several of them and cause others to leave the safety of the nest. So give the nest a second and longer shot to soak the nest and kill the larvae. Sometimes there are additional wasps on the nest in the morning, but it's a simple matter to nail the last of them.

Make sure to clean up the dead wasps and larvae in the morning so that your pets don't get themselves in trouble nosing through them. Be generous when using the product, at this price you might want to buy two cans.

Which is after all why I bought this stuff in the first place. Well, second place really. I first got Spectracide Wasp and Hornet Killer, Twin Pack, 2 to 20-Ounce on a 'great sale' at a local store and found that it would have been more effective to beat the wasps to death with the can.

The Raid spray performed as expected. Nice stream, decent distance and any wasp it hit dropped to the ground and expired in seconds.

Instructions for mass death:
1. stand ten feet away
2. spray nest
3. watch them drop and die

The paper wasp nest we sprayed: no wasp has returned (it's been months)

You know what they do? BUILD another nest in the NEXT eve. Short time frame by the way.
Stock up on cans or ignore them - I had a beekeeper chew me out that I just can't leave them there and co-exist.
I don't want my eves full of stinging insects. As my father said, "Remember, we rule the insects. They do not rule us!".

I have used this product to control infestations of hornets and wasps. I can treat the infested area from a distance, usually about 10-15 feet. But, one must wear adequate eye and face protection when using this product or any other pesticide product.

Don't believe the hype. Tried this spray for two separate nests in my yard. In each case the spray does kill a few wasps wherever it comes into direct contact with them, but by and large the nests themselves are unaffected and the vast majority of wasps too remain flying in and out at will. The best solution is to contact a local pest control professional. Luckily I'm contracted with one for annual service, so no additional cost for having them come out with professional grade killer. Wish I had thought of that before laying out about $25 for a few of these useless cans.

We've used this product for years to kill/scare off all varieties of winged pests. Wasps/hornets/yellowjackets. Nothing works well to keep the bugs away for an extended period but we have felt in past years this has worked as well as anything to keep the bugs from setting up house in the cracks of our columns. We would apply it every few days when we started seeing them congregating again.

This year, I've used it multiple times a day and it is doing nothing to discourage the wasps. They do not die on contact, and they are not discouraged by a surface that is absolutely sopping wet with this spray. In other words, this stuff is hit and miss. I'm gonna try to find something with a different active ingredient. This spray's poisons are: PRALLETHRIN and CYPERMETHRIN.

UPDATE: We have had much better luck this year using Spectracide Stinging Insects Killer (Wasp & Hornet Killer, 18 oz). Its reviews here on amazon are extremely critical, particularly of the distance you get when you spray, but we have had really good luck with it. The spray distance was excellent, and the bugs seem to be more grossed out by the Spectracide than by the Raid.
