COVERT OP IN THE JUNGLE OF NORTH VIETNAM,

This review is from: Raid (Super Vietnam Ground Zero) (Paperback)
This first super volume in the VIETNAM: GROUND ZERO series from Gold Eagle books came out just about the time (June, 1988) that I started reading the Gold Eagle line of books. I now have hundreds dating from that time: The Executioner, Able Team, Phoenix Force, Stony Man, Super Bolans, etc. in addition to the Vietnam: Ground Zero series. The author is shown to be one 'Eric Helm' but that is house name, according to info available on the net the person who wrote most of the books in this series was Kevin Randle. Hard to tell if there actually is/was a Kevin Randle from the lack of bio info given. This book is as terrific a read as all the 3 dozen books in the series. The Raid takes the reader into the "steaming jungle hell of Vietnam", on a covert mission to spy on a Soviet run camp hidden in North Vietnam. Once established that the camp actually exists, Captain Mack Gerber, recurring character in the Vietnam: Ground Zero series, is given new orders to eliminate the camp. Another interesting read from Gold Eagle books, and a series that Ed Gorman termed "Some of the most riveting war fiction written ...". This first super volume also has a very useful map of Vietnam on page 5, a full page map that is inserted into many of the books of series. Semper Fi. |
