I've been playing around with this thing for most of the day now and have yet to have a single misfire. The gun so far has been rock-solid. I can't say for certain how this thing will hold up a month from now but I am extremely happy with my purchase.I would prefer if the drum could be loaded more quickly, but I'll take consistency during use over speed.

Bought this for my 4 y/o son; he absolutely loves it. He has no problems with the two modes of fire, and he loves the slam shot function. I can't help but rate this as the third best nerf gun, behind only the Maverick and Fire Fly. If you aren't sure, trust me, this is a great nerf product.

The cs-35 is a great toy... i'm 20 years old but nerf is a passion of mine. It seems every year these blasters get neater. The huge thing about this blaster is the fact that it comes with that 35 round drum. i'm telling you, when the nerf raiders come, this is a great defensive tool. The fact that the drum switches into the Recon and Longshot (of which i own both) is HUGE! Great little toy, worth the money just to see the look on the faces of people you play with.

This gun is awesome! I have never had any problem with this gun jamming. You have a huge advantage in a NERF gun battle because it has such a large capacity. It is easy to load, pump and fire. It is a big gun and requires some strength to use so it is probably best for kids 8 and up.

Now, I have never actually owned a NERF Gun and feeling cheated of childhood, me and my roommates decide to invest in a few to have a few "NERF Dart Wars" in our apartment. Needing to step it up, I invested in the Nerf Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 Dart Blaster because of its high dart capacity, fast speed, and low rate of jamming. After experiencing playing with another dart blaster that is considerable cheaper, I realized that jamming and low capacity and slow speed were difficult to grasp. This one excels in multiple ways. The most challenging part of it was actually taking it out of the package because HASBRO tied the parts down in the packaged. It comes with tons of extra darts making it a great value. Pros -Fast speed, multishot mode is quite handy for there is no more need to just shoot one lousy dart at a slow rate -Large Capacity -Great compatibility with other Nerf guns, can use their ammo packets for quick speed. -Not at all too big, about under two feet -Sturdy -Easy to remove ammo, just click the button (once the "pump" is back in neutral position) and it pops off easy. Cons -Large capacity takes about 1-2 minutes to load -Have fun finding all those darts if not playing in close range Ultimately, if I was a kid, I would be excited to receive this great toy!

The raider is an awesome gun, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Just to get it clear the raider is not an automatic Nerf gun. You have to pump the second handle back and forth for it to fire. The value pack comes with 100 darts instead of 35. An expandable stock comes with it that you can take off, but you cannot add a barrel extension to the end of it. The ammo is shot out of a 35-dart drum clip that you have to load yourself which takes about 1-2 1/2 minutes. The clip is compatible with other clip blasters, which is cool. The raider shoots about 1 1/2 darts per second, and roughly takes a minute to fire all the darts. The raider is actually the second heaviest gun I have, and can be hard to hold sometimes. (I'm 10). I would recommend this gun to anyone 8+ even if you are a beginner in Nerf.

One always worries about "gun" toys. Well, this is safe and a whole lot of fun for a boy. Better than spending hours on a video game which is truly violent. Even grandmas can play with this toy. Believe me. Safe, while exciting. Worth the fun for everyone!

Finally NERF realized that kids who played with NERF as kids are playing with NERF at college. Stock range is a little disappointing compared to the Recon and Longshot, but the drum magazine and slam fire totally make up for that. This blaster clocks in around 3 darts/sec with minimal jams, faster than the vulcan. Fits well in my 18-year-old hands and the stock is almost comfortable. With the extra darts, this is by far the best deal around. Also the cocking sound makes you feel like a total badass. 5/5

I picked this up at Target with 100 darts for $[...]. It shoots very well and has 2 firing modes. First you can use the pump to chamber a dart and pull the trigger to fire (Single Fire). Second you can hold the trigger down and fire with the front pump grip for speed (Slam Fire). It's nice that you can use the optional Flip clips with this gun as the Round Drum Magazine (35 darts) is a bit bulky. The bonus is the Drum Magazine works with the Recon and the Longshot. I think the hand grips are the best design yet. The only thing that I don't like about this blaster is the placement of the magazine. Seems like a they could have made it tommy gun style and had a better balanced toy. Personally I would love to see a rounded magazine with a spiral of 100 darts centered on a blaster like this. They should make a battery powered reloading dock you just dump the darts into. One can dream...

I purchased two of these rapid file guns for my boys, on one gun the bullet chamber is difficult to remove from the gun. My 10 year old is not strong enough to pull it free. I must assist each time he needs to reload. The other gun the bullet chamber removes easily as my 8 year old can remove with no assistance. It would be nice if there was a faster way to reload, but the gun fires evenly with no jams everytime. I will take consistent firing over fast loading anytime. As for the fun factor - I give 5-stars. My boys have been outside all night and day playing with the nerf blasters.
