This Power Supply was provided to me by Raidmax free of charge for the sole purpose of delivering an in-depth and honest review.

Pros:

Excellent Design Quality
Extra Long Cables
Modular Cable Design Makes For Easy Cable-Management
Cooling Fan Is Extremely Efficient And Silent
The Included Bundle Is Very Handy
The Voltage Rails Are Nice And Tight
Plenty Of Wattage And Amperage For Any SLI Or Crossfire Rig
The Price Is Does Not Reflect The Quality (In A Good Way)

Cons:

Odd Grinding Noise On First Two Boot-Ups
Doesn't Make Me Breakfast

Besides the odd grinding noise, the Raidmax 850W Power Supply was an absolute dream to work with. I highly recommend this power supply to anybody looking for a new one.

you're like me, you are very tentative when it comes to products from Raidmax. It is a simple fact of desktop computing that Raidmax psu's are basically built to fail. This particular new line of psu's is obviously meant to change that outlook, and for me, it worked. Packaging felt proper, not excessive, and it comes with a pretty awesome multi purpose box too. Installation was a breeze, (modular cable design is always a plus), and when my rig was actually up and running, I couldn't tell the Raidmax was even on. I have it running two 6970's in cross fire with an I7 990X CPU at 3.6ghz, then all of that overclocked enough to tear apart Arma II, and it still makes no noise, but voltage and current stayed consistent and strong.
Ihaven't had this psu for too long, but I have a feeling it'll be around for a while.

This power supply is easy to install and comes with plenty of cables, because its a modular psu.I suggest getting this psu, but i saw it at frys.com for $109.99 so u might want to get it there. All in all, this is a very efficient and quiet psu. I only have 2 fans installed (not including a stock fan for my cpu) and it's quiet efficient and saves power thanks to the pfc, so i would recommend this product to mid-range gamers.

I thought the same thing as many other reviewers here. 850 watt power supply, Gold Plus certified, fully modular, for less than $120? I'm sold. Installation was easy. The modular cables made everything really nice. It had enough power to run my two 6950s, which are unlocked to 6970s.

But this did not last. About six months after I got this, I started to have crashes during games. I would get BSODs, random restarts and sometimes the PC would completely turn off. I also had problems with games freezing a lot. These became more frequent. As time went on, I also started to get KERNEL_DATA_ERROR. All of these errors became more and more frequent. Finally, I started to hear a different noise from the PSU. When under load, the fan makes a high-pitched whirring noise. It sounds like it's overworking itself, that sort of maximum-speed noise.

After doing some research, I found that this power supply loses voltage faster than other brands, making it unstable after a certain period of time. If it fails, it can take out other components, as well.

Getting this power supply cost me over $300. The initial power supply was cheap, but I had to replace it after less than a year. So the initial cost of this incredibly cheap, unreliable PSU was $120, and then I spent another $200 to get a fully-modular Corsair power supply. Don't buy this power supply. Pay an extra $60 and get a power supply that will last for more than a year.

i built a new computer with dual amd 7970's, so having a strong PSU was a must. this PSU was just the right price and had all the features i'd wanted including a gold rating. it is modular to help with cable management, and comes in a tool-box like package that you can reuse to organize all your loose computer parts. not too loud, and temperature seems to be fine. would buy again!

The PSU runs very well and I love the modular design. I would have been better if the CPU power cord was longer though. The PSU is very quiet and runs great. It had plenty of cords so you won't have to worry. With that said I had some problems installing it in my NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower case. The case has the PSU bottom mounted, it seemed to me that the PSU is meant to be top mounted. I could only put in 2 screws the rest were impossible to put in. Overall this is a great PSU FOR TOP MOUNTING CASES!!!

Let me start by saying this seller is great. I give them 3 stars because the shipping was fast, the product was exactly as advertised, the price was good, and I would order from them again. However, this power supply is terrible. I have been building gaming computers since 2001 and have never had a power supply die and take the motherboard with it. I decided it was a good buy and then read the online reviews. I should know better , shouldn't I? Always read the reviews first. Anyhow, I gamed for one night and the next morning the machine would not post. I borrowed a PSU from a friend and all was dead. I put this dead unit in his machine and nothing. I decided not to return it, because I didn't want a replacement and what was I to do with a unit that could take down another person's machine? I gave the box it was shipped in to my girlfriend and she loves it. She keeps her makeup in it.. That's about all it's worth is a happy girlfriend with a new makeup case. I do not recommend this power supply to anyone. I would forgo the replacement RMA from the manufacturer as well. They can replace it over and over again, but did they want to replace my blown up motherboard at a tune of 269.99? No, I didn't think so.. Seller is great, product is a makeup case.
