Raidmax Typhoon ATX-312WS No PS ATX Mid Tower Case (Black)

Customer Reviews

This case is great, and very lightweight.

The side door is very cheap feeling and flimsy, and the plastic rivets holding the plastic side door are very weak and break easily.

You might need to force some of the screws in the case to mount your board but other than that, I have no complains.

This case is extremely poorly put together, and the Raidmax customer support is completely unable to help with any problems that arise after your 30-day protection from Amazon. It may be tempting simply because it is a cheaper case, however, I suggest you instead look up the Cooler Master Elite 430, it has a very similar price, more fan ports, and is much more sturdy.

* The front LED fan is only visible from directly in front of the case, so if you are not looking at it head on, it will project no light. I sometimes had to lean in just to see if it was on. The side viewport arrived scratched on two different cases, the one I purchased, and the replacement that I requested.

* The front fan can be removed if you want to replace it or use it in a different case, however, it is held there by small clips that break immediately if you try to bend them to remove the fan.

* The 4-pin molex connectors for the 3 fans included with this case are extremely flimsy, they take a lot of effort to connect to a PSU cord and more often than not one of the 4 pins will be forced out of the back of the plastic housing. This is extremely frustrating when you have to spend the next 10 minutes trying to bend the arms of the pins back out so it stays secured. Mind you, these pins and arms are about as wide as the wiring of a paperclip.

* The sides of the case bend extremely easily and if you try to put them back on after removing them, they will usually bend inward slightly and make it so that they cannot be put on all the way. Once you manage to do that, they will remain around a millimeter away from the front of the case and the light from the from LED will come out through this crack. It looks extremely cheap.

i would not recommend this case to someone who is serious about building computers. but i would to a beginner.

Pros:
-front fan is big and does an ok job of keeping the hard drives cool
-comes with 3 fans
-tooless hard drive and CD Drive installation

cons:
-VERY cheap felling and looking metal and plastic
-the fan on the side was broken
-plastic for the window was broken
-PSU mount on the top
-very little amount of room in the case, as in i almost broke my motherboard trying to get my hard drives in with the 9800GTX Black Edition
-front fan is not bright at all, not nearly as bright as the picture. more of my preference, but couldn't they add a brighter fan?

This computer case is the worse case i ever bought. I had to replace all the fans in the case. The material that this case is made of is sooo cheap that if i set anything on top of it the case will begin to bend down. This case was a waste of money.

From the reviews I'd seen I expected this product to be a bit more flimsy than it really is. The fans are definitely pretty cheap and I'll most likely replace them soon. But the case is actually fairly rigid metal. It has the feel of filing cabinet metal. Sorta pliable and thin but still strong. The front is a mid-high quality plastic with no detectable flaws or rough edges. ITs very glossy and solid feeling.

Over-all I deduct 1 star for 2 reasons.
#1 because of the chinsy fans

#2 I would like it better if the method of attaching the window to the frame was a bit more solid. It's sorta riveted on in a few spots and would be better if the plastic were actually joined to the metal via some sort of epoxy or heat joining. The way it is now creates weak spots. I will probably swap it out for a piece of clear plexiglass anyway and epoxy it myself.

It was similar quality to what I would expect from a mainstream desktop case. Good for the price. Not a premium item.

I used this case for about a year and that was all I could take. I bought this for looks alone and that was a big mistake! Boy was it ever!! the airflow was terrible. There is no cable management behind the motherboard. basically after assembling my new PC, I was left with a real rats nest on the inside of the case even after using 10 + zip ties. After a year of use I finally came to my senses and bought a Corsair 300R windowed case and got the temps down and made my PC much more presentable.

At the price only 3 fan ports seems kind of unacceptable, especially only an 80mm port for the side. With no top fan the case heats up quickly causing temperatures to soar. The side door is very cheap feeling and flimsy, and the plastic rivets holding the plastic side door are very weak and break easily. One even came broken on arrival. This might be a decent case for $30, but at $50, your money is better spent elsewhere.

Pros:
nice looking
durable for being so cheap
has a window

Cons:
cramped for asus direct cu gtx 550ti
not many places for cords

Summary:I bought this case because it was cheap, had good airflow, airflow, and looked really nice. Raidmax did well for this cheap of a case, but i wanted a little more. the sides and outside of the case is actually pretty durable. flexible atleast. the window is flexing outward because the power to my gpu needs the space. overall, this case is great for a new builder, but be careful with your clearence. the 550 ti was a tight fit.
