I've already written five reviews tonight, so this will be quick.
To be honest I don't even like the idea of reviewing this album--I shouldn't have to. Anyone that didn't give this record five stars is completely off it. This album, along with Roni and Represent, helped create a movement in music. New Forms was a decade ahead of its time--and still is. I could drop Morse Code or Hot Stuff at a gig tomorrow and people would think it was a new press (unless they know Roni) Some DNB heads and F-ing jungle kids don't even know this album (blasphemy!) That's like a rockstar that doesn't have Led Zeppelin 4--gimme a break! This album is perfection on all fronts; downtempo, DnB, breaks, It just doesn't get any better--and this album NEVER gets old. |
