Wonderful fingerstyle guitar, October 5, 2000
This review is from: Railroad Bill (Audio CD)
Etta Baker is such a lovely lady who is one of the leading practioners of the Piedmont blues guitar. This, one of the wonderful albums issued in conjunction with the Music Maker Foundation, showcases her fluid picking. The lack of vocals is the only complaint about this release. Otherwise this showcases of her fluid finer picking on a variety of tunes shows why Etta Baker is so highly regarded by fans of acoustic blues.

You will search long and hard to find better music than this. Don't listen at low volume either ... Crank it up! Pure joy. This is a quality recording, too.

Great CD, March 21, 2010

I was not familiar with Etta Baker before but this CD is very good. It is basically one of a kind American folk songs with a minimum number of instruments (mostly one guitar).
