4.0 out of 5 stars Six layouts which show a variety of modeling techniques., December 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: 6 HO Railroads You Can Build (Model Railroader) (Paperback)
The six layouts presented are well-assembled reprints of multi-part projects from Model Railroader magazine and are of interest to all skill levels due to the richness of the techniques, methods and scenic details presented. The first two are highly detailed small modules, for the space-challenged modeler. The two 4x8 plans represent the size layout of a typical beginning modeler, one is a basic design and the other of intermediate complexity. The final two layouts are for larger spaces, one for beginners (8x8), and one more complex (13x24) for an aspiring advanced modeler. This book is better than typical plan books because is extensively covers electrical and scenery concepts and techniques.

i purchased this book because it was the only book available with the article series i was looking for. when i received it however i was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of series i had forgotten about that i found new inspiration in. since i have a small space i found the smaller layout ideas more useful but all in all it's still a great book after all these years

I bought this book because it had the Carbondale Central project that I remember reading and wishing I could build when I was a kid. Now grown up the individual back issues that contained it would have cost two to three times as much as this book did.
