Format: Hardcover
This is an interesting little volume containing 96 pages of colour plates and drawings, usually two pictures to a page, but with some taking up one or even two pages. This is supported by 48 pages of descriptive comments on the illustrations. As you can see, the majority are taken up with the First World War's Western Front. However, if you are interested in the general history of railways, you will find much of interest here.

The Contents are -
Introduction Pages 1-6
Colour Plates pages 7-102
Descriptive Notes Pages 103-150
Index Pages 151-154

The illustrations are -
American Civil War (Illustration numbers) 1-4
Franco-Prussian War 5
Colonial Lines - German S.W. Africa 6-11
South African War (Boer War) 12-21
Early 20th-century Experiments (monorails) 22-24
World War I (1914) 25-26
Cross-Channel Transport 27-31
R.O.D. Contrasts 32-33
Rail-borne Artillery 34-42
Special V.I.P.

Hello everybody!
Book is really interesting.
It includes a lot of information about locomotives and special mashines, wagons and artillery on rails.
British military locomotives are greatly displayed here. Information about light railroadin in details. And a little but interesting information about armour wagons and locomotives. This kind of information is really difficult to find in any other publishers.
