Songs of Realisation,
By Anders Nygaard (Denmark) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Rain of Wisdom (Hardcover)
This book contains translations of the songs of realisation of the master of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, including the Karmapas. The collection is traditional and is usually chanted by the monks and nuns once a year in Kagyu-monasteries. As such, the songs have an important place in the spiritual literary tradition of Tibet. The songs are beautiful and very inspiring, usually stressing the importance of a spiritual teacher (guru) and the actual practice of meditation.

This review is from: The Rain of Wisdom (Hardcover)
As said by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in Foreword: "Students are also advised to read this book for instructions when their life is filled with disruption and uncertainty and neurosis. Even reading only one passage is better than going to a psychiatrist or taking a dose of aspirin. This is not a myth."
The more I read, the deeper I am touched. The poems are so powerful and helpful for their genuineness! My deepestappreciation to all Kagyu forefathers as well as Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and his translation committee! |
