Just like a rainbow,
By
This review is from: Rainbow (Audio CD)
This CD is beautiful
1. Rainbow-Nothing really here N/A 2. Everlasting Dream-Calm nicegoing melody, but way too short 8/10 3. We Wish-Pretty energetic with a nice pop style to it 9/10 4. Real Me-At first it sounded like a Destiny's Child song, But the hook was the defining moment of this song. I always hear mysalef saying "In order to survive" 10/10 5. Free And Easy-This is a definite rememinice of M. It starts off slow, has a goos hook and switches off to a more energetic style. And Ayu's voice goes with the whole song 10/10 Favorite track 6. Heartplace-This song is a decent slow song, and it has a nice hook, altho, I expected a bit more energy from a rock style ballad. 8/10 7. Over-A sad ballad. I love the calmness of this song mixed with pure emotion. Very beautiful 10/10 8. Hanabi-I love the beautif piano style used in this wonderful ballad, and Ayu's voice was beautiful from begining to end 10/10 9. Taskinillusion-Interlude N/A 10. Everywhere Nowhere-Ayu speaks a lot of english in this CD, unlike her others. Anywho, after the english intro the song is a very high spirited energy paulser, and it's very catchy. 10/10 11. July 1st-I bought this CD a while ago and got it yesterday, close to date of the song, but no. Anywho this reminds me of greatful days, cept this is more energetic, and catchier. And it's got some cool record scratches in it. 10/10 12. Dolls-I love the mystic feel this song gives, and the smooth flowing hook, along with Ayu's calm voice. 10/10 2nd favorite track 13. Neverending Dream-Interlude N/A 14. Voyage-The song starts off in a sad way, but the hook was very livley, and it takes the track up a notch at the end, And Ayu's voice went smoothly along with the motions of this song. 10/10 15. Close To You-Out of all tracks, this is the one I'll most likely skip. It's way too slow, and I can't tell where the hook is. 5/10 16. Independent-The let's go clap get's it started, and then prelude sets it up for a fast paced, energetic anime flavored song. I definitly love the up temponess of the hook. 10/10 3rd favorite track. +(Secret track)Sounds like flower garden Pt.2 It's ok. Not all that great or bad. 6/10 This is the 4th CD I got from Ayu(First 3 I am Memorial Address, My Story). And I have to say, it is so dang close to I am.(I had a very hard time picking my 3 favorite tracks off of this) This CD should be owned by every fan of Ayu, or J-pop. To me I'd say if you're starting with Ayu to pick up this or I am. This is dang near a near perfect follow up to I am. peace

Made me a convert, great CD,

If there ever was a more marketed 'Product' in music in general I have yet to see it.
I have always found Ayumi's music mass-produced by a committee, vacuumed sealed for freshness & delivered on mass to a punch-drunk public in between the schoolgirls panty vending machines. I know that's harsh but this artist dose personify the pop industry in Japan of mass production & high turnover. Having said that she is one of the hardest working & to my knowledge the #1 selling female artist in Asia at large. So it was a great surprise to me that I loved this album. The music was great, her voice seems stronger than in the past & the cover art is really fantastic. This is pop but not with the super sweet taste that I have come to expect from Ayumi, there is a bit of soul in this album & it shines through too. I didn't have any issues with the CD in my iBook & it went with no hitch into my iPod. I know that some people have had issues with the copy protection on this CD though. So fingers crossed it will work on your computer if you need it to.

Many people tell me that this album is Ayumi Hamasaki's worst, but I don't really agree. None of her albums are bad. RAINBOW stands out as her experimental album, she has tried different new styles with this album such as R'n'B.
I recommend all songs on this album, but some songs sticks out. Such as Voyage, Real me, July 1st, Independent and Heartplace. I may say that many songs on this album aren't the best - Ayu can deliver better songs, but the songs does satisfy me. If you already are an ayu fan, be sure to get this album straight away! If you are new to Ayu, try something like A BEST before you buy this.

Simply the best in music. Ayumi is an amazing singer and performer. I own 10 cds and I will buy more when I have the money. No one is better then Ayu period. The remixes are much better and have more energy then american remixes have. I never listen or buy american cds anymore. Ayu rocks big time.

Ayumi is truly an gifted singer. Her lyrics are very deep and sweet, the music is very techno/rock/pop like but it's so good to listen to. I have Never Ever,M,kaniryia singles. I have also bough the ayu-mix III non-stop megamix and ayro trance 3. If you like trance in general you will love this. Ayumi hamasaki is simply the best in music today. A true angel with an powerful voice and loved by millions. Buy this now and experince the true meaning of trance.

Rainbow,

This albums blends together seamlessly ballads and techno with just the right amount of pop sound to produce one of Ayu's best albums to date. Songs such as 'Free and Easy' move quickly from slow melodies to fast guitar riffs without a hitch, while songs like 'Voyage' and 'Independent' stay rooted in a style from the vibrant beginning to a strong and enchanting final note. The entire album combines some of the best sounds of J-pop; soaring vocals, techno beats and accoustic strings music, creating a wonderful listening experience that should be owned by any fan of the genre.

This is a great album.,
This review is from: Rainbow (Audio CD)
I love this CD. The album flows nicely as it goes from song to song. The tone set by the first song completely sets the mood for the rest of the CD. Every song on the album is unique and sound spectacular. The ballads, interludes, and up-beat tunes have been beautifully arranged. The infectious beats and rhythms are quick to grasp (as well as keep) your attention. In short, I strongly suggest buying this album.

Six stars should be an option!,

Seriously, if I could I'd rate this CD with six stars! Ayumi is the greatest pop-icon ever, IMHO! She's got it all, the looks, the voice, the songs! Ayumi is just so cute! This CD is wonderful! I have just ordered it and I'm waiting to get this CD but I know most of the songs already. And they're great songs; rocksongs, dancesongs, ballads; you can find it all on this record. For instance, 'Real me' is a R n B-ish song which is sung in English mostly, Hanabi is a great ballad, July 1st is a great dancesong and Heartplace is a great rocksong. Love it!

i've heard a few,

I've heard a few songs from this cd, some might say that they are bad considering the fact that they are in japanese so its not a good idea to buy it unless you are a fan of j-pop. Personally, i think Ayumi's music is great and this cd includes some of her best, like "real me" a song about finding you real self and that everyone is very different from eachotherMostly girls tend to like the songs except for a few fanboys that really like the meaning of her music. There is only one thing that i am wondering about the cd and that is if it has the music videos in it or not. Unlike american music, Ayumi and others seem to have more creative songs and music videas so you shouln't find the lyrics too common (if you know japanese) the japanese also like english so if you listen closely you might find some that'll help you understand the song better (however, it is spoken badly at times) |
