I have successfully used these for many years, and the idea that these are only 500mg, which I have been told by a doctor that is all we can realistically absorb at one time, helps me. I take one in the morning and one before bed. It also is nice that it has magnesium, as it is found that women do not get enough of that in their bodies either.And the amount of vitamin D, from again, many more studies does not preclude me taking these, as it is also being claimed women do not get enough sunshine or other forms of it because of extensive use of sunscreen in makeup, lotions, etc.

As far as the Soy content, I go out of my way to try not to ingest any in most of my food items, but this just so happens to be as follows:

"Contains soy lecithin in vegetable glaze."

Overall a very sound product for absorbtion, and I even have my teen daughters using it twice a day, and they notice a big change in their monthly cycles, as far as lack of pain in cramping, etc.

I started taking these calcium supplements during pregnancy since I wanted to make sure I met my daily requirement. I continue to do so now that I am nursing. I was purchasing this product in the store, but saw that I definitely got more for my money online.

This product contains a small amount of horsetail, which has trace amounts of nicotine. I bought it not having heard anything about horsetail before, but there was no warning against use by pregnant/lactating women on the bottle. However, when I came home and googled the herb there were strong cautions against using it. So I looked on Rainbow Light's website. In their little application to find the right form of calcium for you, if you enter that you are pregnant/lactating, they will not show this product as a recommended form of calcium. This is confusing and not very honest. It would be helpful if they would just write what they think about this product during pregnancy so you can make a decision.
