My husband and I started to talk about expanding our family next year. Being that I am a nurse I wanted to get started on preparing my body for the upcoming pregnancy. I started to do research on prenatal vitamins out there and wanted to find a natural prenatal that would give my body and the future baby all of the nutrients that might be lacking from my diet. I have read a lot of reviews and have done nutritional fact comparisons for several prenatal vitamins that are available over the counter. I have to say that Rainbow Light Prenatal is a great one-a-day vitamin that is filled with 100% natural nutrients needed for a healthy pregnancy as well as probiotics and digestive support nutrients which ease digestion and prevent stomach upset. This vitamin caught my attention because it was a whole food based vitamin, and for the daily intake of just one tablet, it packs a lot of nutrients. Although I am not yet pregnant and cannot speak for morning sickness, this vitamin is very gentle on my stomach and it does not make me nauseated nor does it give me gas/ constipation. Since taking these vitamins, I have to say that my energy level has increased tremendously, my hair and nails got noticeably stronger and I feel an overall boost to my immune system! I have to say that feeling "these effects" after taking this vitamin is a pleasant surprise because I have never felt any of them while taking multi-vitamins before. While preparing to conceive, I am trying to cut back on my caffeine intake and this "boost" of energy that I am feeling lately is definitely helpful. So while scanning the nutritional facts on the bottle it is quickly apparent that this prenatal packs a lot of nutrients with most of them being at 100% or more of the daily value.Read more ›

I used this Prenatal through my pregnancy from the beginning, I initially bought a smaller supply from my local grocery store and loved them. When I decided to "stock up" for the rest of my pregnancy I logged in and found a great deal for the 150 count bottle and purchased!
I've been taking these for a few months now and have noticed the things I initially enjoyed about these vitamins weren't really true anymore. I was nauseated after taking it, my nails were very brittle, I was developing severe acne and I was more fatigued than I had ever been. I also always thought the vitamins had an off smell but didn't think much of it.

We purchased a 90 count bottle from the local store last night to compare to see if I was just crazy preggo or not.

Turns out the vitamins I have been taking for me and my baby the last few months ARE NOT THE SAME ONES FOUND IN THE BOTTLE FROM THE STORE. The ones from Amazon have a very different distinct smell and even look different than the others. I had read an article the other day about buying name brand products from places like Amazon and the company not being able to guarantee them but thought it was just some conspiracy theorists taking to a blog... turns out they may be right and you can't guarantee what you are getting unless you purchase from a place who actually gets it from the company itself.

As a mom to be it is upsetting to me to know I have been taking something the last several the which may have done nothing for my growing baby. I will be careful on what I purchase from amazon from now on.

One pill taken at night is perfect for me. I used to think that all prenatals were created equal until I took a cheap one from the drugstore and got sick. These are gentle on the stomach and I would recommend them to anyone. I don't think the size is a problem and I've never had a problem taking them.

Great item. Wife likes them alot. Took two stars off because our most recent order contained pills that have a black substance on them. It does not appear to be mold, and they are well within their "best by" date. Amazon processed an exchange, but something other shoppers and the manufacturer should know.

I'm NOT pregnant, but preparing for near future pregnancy again. I love what these vitamins are and have in them, but they make me nauseous. It feels like morning sickness. I have stopped them and started them a few times now to see if it was just a bug I had gotten, but the result is always the same: nausea.

Unfortunately, Rainbow Light does not offer a prenatal that is GMO free, including their organic prenatal. I called them and they verified that all their multis contain GMOs. It is important to me to not introduce GMO's into my growing baby's body on a daily basis! I was disappointed about this because I was under the impression that this would be an excellent prenatal supplement. I also really wanted to take a one-a-day supplement. After lots of research I have found that there are only 4 companies that offer non-GMO prenatal supplements, and none of them are one a day. These are: Garden of Life Raw Prenatal and Kind Organics Prenatal, Innate Baby and Me Trimester I & II and Trimester III & Post, Mega Food Baby and Me and Baby and Me Herb Free, and New Chapter Perfect Prenatal. I did read that New Chapter is owned by Procter and Gamble, so I would be cautious with that one although it is certified GMO free. Of all of these, Innate seems to be the best for the price and only requires 2 per day instead of 3 or 4 per day for the other ones.
