This has become one of my favorite CDs to play and just listen in the background while I am busy doing other things. The music just moves along in its own buoyant way. The opening title piece has a driving beat with a flowing interwoven melody. Then we shift later to Brother Ray, a ballad with a touch of blues flavor. Later Groove Blues comes in with a nice blues beat and some great riffs from Turre's horn. Overall, there are varied styles, each enjoyable and well performed by an excellent group.

I never heard a bad record of Steve Turre. Besides being a great trombonist he surrounds himself always with excelent players. So as I saidwith guys like him jazz is in good hands without being bored or complicated.

Usual excellent playing. The CD could have been a little more varied than it is, especially in comparison to other Turre CDs.
